F*ck him. Let him get 200 sacks in the next 2 years, I won't give a poo. It'll just show what a POS he is for sandbagging it while he was here pouting in his own imagined misery. And if he ends up a HOF'er, let him go in as a Bear and make no mention of the Panthers, I don't want us to be associated with him.

Wow. Butthurt much?

Watching Peppers get layed out by Smith on a block is going to be epic.

oh hell yeah...if he gets one of those memorable full speed blind sides like my white ass got back in the high school days, Ill buy 200 of the Pictures and send them to the bears camp. :D

i agree. If he has a outstanding year then it just shows what little heart he has. Do you think Smitty would care where he was playin? no, he plays the same EVERY game..thats heart.

Born Here, raised here, put on the map here. how can you be miserable?? hes gonna spend 3 years at the bears and realize its no better there. but by that time i sure he will have been masecred by the media up there for being inconsistent. i see it happening towards the end of this season.

No... Pep would understand, it's just business, it's not personal lol.

Seriously though Dimbee, I know it doesn't bother you b/c although you pull for both teams, I know you REALLY love the Bears. So you didn't lose anything in this situation.

Peppers basically treated our FO like Lebron did Cleveland's. I'm all for a guy getting paid and wanting to win. But, the complete 180 he's done since signing with the Bears is disgusting. Again, it's like Lebron quitting in the playoffs - Pep didn't give it his all here... He turned it on and off. He didn't want to be a leader, he didn't want to talk to the media, etc. But he goes to CHI, and he's talking about the history, how he will be a leader and he didn't want to be that here, blah blah blah... Popping bottles in clubs... He acted like a jackass in the situation.

So I just think, he didn't want to be here, so I wouldn't want him to be associated with us. I'm pro-player in almost every situation... No doubt being a fan of a team involved can bias my opinion, as it would anyone, but even taking an objective look at the situation, he hasn't exactly shown himself to be a stand-up guy in how he handled the situation.

can you explain your hatred for him? why is it ok to speak about delhomme, hoover, jenkins, etc but not peppers?

Because all of them are no longer here due to the team's decision although they gave everything every play - Peppers was a whiny bitch prima donna who only played when he felt like it.

Do not be swayed by the folks on this board that swear that Pep took lots of plays off, and could have been the best DE ever.

He is a fantastic football player, a player that never has to come off of the field, in any situation. He is a rare find.

Is he the best ever? Nope, but thats some pretty rare air.

He has been the best all around DE that has come into the league in a very long time...Allen is probably getting close to him, but still does not play the run as well as Pep. IMO.

Congrats to your team on a very nice pick up, I wish that we still had him suiting up for the Panthers, and for him to be happy to do so.

WTF??

I mean....

WTF??

We did watch the same guy last year and the three years before it go to the side line numerous times. Hell, there was even a rumor going on about him having a sickness due to his lack luster ability and him not being able to stay in the game for extended periods of time

this post is so stupid i dont even know where to start. comparing peppers and lebron is absolutly moronic. its so different on so many levels i dont have enough room to write all the reasons. once again its pathetic and a joke how much you guys are anti peppers. if the panthers offered him the contract he got with the bears he would have signed.

First off, it was reported that we offered him MORE than the Bears offered him and he rejected it. Why are you so in love with Peppers? Did he walk your mom across the street or something? Save your puppy from drowning?

Me? He didn't do anything for me, so I don't owe him anything - respect included. No disrespect, I just don't care what he does from here on out. There's guys on other teams that I've pulled for as a fan, but he eliminated that for me with how he acted here.

He and Carey only 'offered' to sign a long-term deal to put a positive PR twist on it. He could've signed a similar contract to what he got with the Bears, OR MORE, the year before he left, and he didn't.

How is that moronic, comparing him and LeBron? Both hometown guys, both had impending free agency looming, both had an opportunity to let it be known their intentions, and both didn't until they left. Pep did say he didn't want to be here the year before he left, but it was the same situation with him before he did that. He led everyone on and wouldn't commit to being here.

Both players have the ability to be the best in the game (in Pep's situation, at what they do) and both had times where they didn't play to their best b/c they were unhappy. Both shitted on their homestates and hometown teams. That's fine if he wanted to move on to a bigger market and a bigger 'tradition' but don't expect the people you shitted on to pull for you... He got his money and got his 'tradition', good luck and good riddance.

    • Um, no, just no. Bills, Chiefs, Chargers, Ravens, Bengals, Texans, Eagles, Commanders are 8 teams that it's not even a debate, they aren't trading their QB for Purdy. Patriots, Broncos, Titans, Giants, Bears, Vikings, Falcons are 7 more teams with QBs drafted in the last 2 years that also would rather stick with them than trade for Purdy as they all have more upside than he does. Lions, Packers, Cowboys, Bucs are 4 more that would likely keep their QB's as well, age aside for Goff, Dak, and Baker. Panthers and Colts are two teams in the same situation, QB's who have both struggled and shown flashes to where the teams probably stick with them because they drafted them, but in a re-draft of all QB's, they probably take Purdy over the guy they currently have. Jags, Cardinals, Dolphins, are 3 more with QB's who probably have a higher upside than Purdy but come with their own question marks, so debatable if they'd take Purdy over who they already have. That leaves Jets, Raiders, Steelers, Browns, Saints, Seahawks, and Rams. Rams would take him over Stafford for the future of course, but not for 2025, and I'd think the Seahawks would take him over Darnold, but honestly not sure if they would take him over Milroe at this moment as they really like his potential and have him for 4 years really cheap. That leaves 5 teams that I see who would absolutely take him over their current situation right now, and a handful of others who MIGHT take him over their current guy, a far cry from your 20.
    • Agreed. Also as soon as they received the top pick in the next draft it was over. Bears won that trade. Gave up a top overall pick got one the next year plus pick 9, a couple 2nds, and DJ Moore a proven young WR. Had their 2024 pick from us be in the late teens or later it would be more debatable IMO.
    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
