Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

Burnt Offerings

I watched this at the urging of my mom, who said it really scared her when she was a kid. My wife and I really enjoyed it.

If you guys can recommend more creepy or psychological horror movies, I'm all ears. They don't have to be from the 70s either. I'm just so tired of the gore, and really appreciate a film that can scare without it. I've got several I'm waiting to watch in my Netflix queue, but can always use a few more.

While we're on the subject of old horror films: I saw one when I was a kid, and I remember little of it save for one scene that really creeped me out. It was a tense scene with people in an old house. Naturally, it was dark and raining outside. A horse and carriage pulled up, and I believe it was supposed to represent Death, who took someone from the house.

That's about all I remember, but I'd love to watch that movie again.

There's one called "Don't Go To Sleep" that I've seen clips of on YouTube.

If you want a seriously creepy movie that you can find right now though, try "Session 9".

    • That's one of the most sober and honest breakdowns I've seen of Bryce.   That guys is being as real as can be.  No sugar coating, no tepidness to critique, blunt and straight to the point.
    • If you think someone shared some bad data on PFF (and is falsely slandering your PFF) well....then you post the QB rankings and show where that 71.5 stacks up week 1 vs the field.  I don't pay for PFF and won't.  I just go off of what others say on PFF.
    • but it's pretty obvious, everyone who watches football simply knew....BY didn't outplay Trevor.   It just didn't happen.  And you didn't think it happened.  Because it didn't happen.  but, if you want to go back after the fact, slo mo film AND you just want things to of been better for Bryce?  Well, you can make that happen.   All you got to do is put on glasses and have the want.   You will find whatever you need.  Well, you know what....maybe he didn't botch that easy throw to Renfrow for a TD.  Maybe it was the pressure that forced a bad throw.  Everyone else could of been better.  It's really the OL that was bad.  Nothing he could of done now that I think about it.  Nevermind he could of just thrown it on time for an easy big play and the pressure wouldn't of existed....or the fact NFL QBs got to make it even with that type pressure.
