Kenny Moore has "disappeared" since the first week of camp

Not trying to spark the debate anymore than it already is (or am I) but I wouldn't say he was the only one who did anything. What some of you fail to realize is the fact that a WR in this offense is ask to do more than run routes and catch, Jarrett has issues with routes, they are also ask to block...Lafell thus far has been the best blocker out of all the WR! Did you happen to catch his down field blocking Thrusday? You know how we kept eating up the yards in the running game because blocking was good? Jarrett wasn't in there, Lafell was! Also, Lafeel run a reverse and gained a first down. Can't recall off the top of my head but I don't believe Jarrett produced more than one first down. Moore had an outstanding catch from Clausen, etc etc etc...

Again, I wouldn't say Jarrett was the only one that did anything when it counted.

On final thing, where do you get no one has proven to be better than Jarrett? Most reports and analyst have already pegged Lafell starter beside of Smith...guess they don't see what you have

are those the same analysts that have jimmy clausen starting?:D

Jarrett's blocking isn't a weakness.

In terms of me saying he was on the only one who did anything when it mattered.....he was the only to catch balls before the Ravens scrub unit game in.

Jarrett has played in NFL games and made grabs. LaFell hasn't. Game play is all that matters at the end of the day.

I hope Jarrett gets cut. That means someone has stepped up and he isn't a need. I am not posting about what I want to happen.....just pointing out no one has proven anything to support the though Jarrett won't be on this team.

Maybe, I don't know...I haven't heard any of them say he should start! I have heard them give him credit for doing what he did, which was play a very good game, but again, none that I have heard has mentioned Clausen should be the starter...but who knows, maybe they did

Ravens scrubs played the whole time pretty much.. Foxworth is out, no Reed, the other starting corner was out.. Nobody looked impressive versus the Ravens backups honestly.

He caught balls against the exact same secondary that was playing in the fourth quarter! In other words all the WR caught balls against basically the same "scrubs"

You put our backup front 7 in front of our starting secondary and it changes things.

What about the backup front 5 on offense? The argument holds little weight. All the WR's went against the same DB's and safeties pretty much all night. None of them showed anything outstanding against them. Our front 5 starters had issues pass blocking the Ravens front 7. Our backup front 5 had issues stopping the Ravens pressure from getting to Clausen, Cantwell, and Pike (1 series) all night too.

Lafell had the drop and he didn't look good out there other than run blocking. Picking bones, really Wallace Wright had the nicest run blocking of the night. Armanti had 2 catches but 3 drops. If he had made all three of those catches and had 5 catches for oh 70 yards people wouldn't have been all over him. However, I'd expect someone going in their 4th year to have more than 1 catch against another teams 2's and 3's. I'm more shocked at your vehement defense of Jarrett when we released 2 WR's that have played better than Jarrett ever has.

Even if he has looked like a stud in practice or according to the coaches, its all about what you put on the field. Currently, the product Jarrett has put on the field has been lackluster his entire career.

Another thing you brought up was Jarrett not knowing the playbook....

Via Charlotte Observer October 2007

Two reporters were talking with rookie receiver Dwayne Jarrett about his frustration at barely getting to play after being a second-round pick.

"As Jarrett was talking, receiver Steve Smith, who hasn’t been talking to the media recently, walked out to his own locker and talked to Jarrett.

“Instead of talking to the media, why don’t you go watch some film?’’ Smith said. Jarrett gave a slight smile and kept talking to the media. Smith, followed up in a very strong tone. “Seriously,’’ Smith said.

I think Jarrett will improve this year. He will make the team, there is no way that you cut your 2nd most experienced WR. I think he'll probably end up with around 600 yards this year and be let go when his contract is up. Unless he has some kind of magical 1000+ yard season, he's probably gone.

Jarrett has not gotten tons of chances....but even Fox has stated he delivers when put on the field and given the chance.

the quote from the Observer is the exact nonsense the board gets caught up with. Blowing comments out of proportion. Dan Morgan's comments on Moore were blown out of proportion. Smitty was in a bad mood....and he is jerk often to begin with. Smitty wasn't talking to the media then....the comments he made probably had a lot more to them than how people choose to interpret them.

If he didn't know the playbook to the degree people around here claim....John Fox would not put him on the field for those 3rd down grabs last year. Nothing Jarrett did last season would have earned him a spot ahead of Moose.

Jarrett has been a disappointment. He ain't the idiot/garbage WR people like to make him out to be.

Well I did cut him in Madden.

lol I always cut his ass in Madden. Actually, in Franchise I've paired him with Justice and some other scrub and traded to the Niners for Taylor Mays, another time I traded 3 guys rated 65 and under and got Wallace from the Steelers.

Honestly, not to say I pull against him, but he had a chance to make an impact last year and he didn't. I've never been impressed with him and I would prefer we let him go and either sign a vet after cuts (I still want to bring in Kevin Curtis now), maybe someone from the Bengals leftovers, or give one of our young guys a shot... Like Trent Guy. They have more potential...

No catches in 6 games last year... One third of the 196 yards against the Saints backups. so 17 catches in 10 games.. I'm glad you like the production.

if you put Steve Smith on the sideline or inactive he wouldn't have production either.

When given the opportunity to have production...Jarrett has produced.

No worries, I will still let you on the bandwagon in a couple weeks.....<CRA says quick prayer to the football gods for Jarrett actually do something this weekend>

    • The Bucs waived shilo sanders after he got ejected.
    • I'm just tired of ppl saying he's so accurate and then have to see recievers slow down to recieve the ball, ruining any chance at YAC
    • Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. 🙃   Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
