I continue to see people, ie Bleacher Report, are getting the feel I have bumped here since meeting him day #1...about rookie Josh Vaughn. I am not saying his spot is assured, but I'd keep his name close to your microscopic evaluation come Saturday.

His mother has emailed Mrs.g, who hit it off at S'burg. The fact is he has size, desire and work ethic...that accounts for something.

I do not know what he sees in putting Moore in this evaluation.

Vaughn does look good, but he reminds me of Alex Haynes from a few years ago and Decori Birmingham from a couple of years ago. You always have a RB that looks great in camp/preseason, but they won't make the team. I think they are a product of Jim Skipper supreme coaching abilities.

I agree. I like the guy, but I don't see why people think we should keep Vaughan over Goodson -- and that's the only way he'd make the active roster.

I think Panthers fans should still be excited over Goodson and thankful we've got a great third-string back in Sutton. Goodson had some fumbling issues, but he's got great speed and could possibly return kick-offs and play the slot. I'm not going to write him off just yet.

Yeah, regarding Josh Vaughn... not to knock his skills or anything, but he's been playing against 3rd and 4th string defensive players. He's going to look good. But I also think it has a lot to do with our coaching ability at that position. Plus, if you're a rookie or free agent coming in off the streets to backup someone like DW, you're going to take a bit of his game and apply it to yours. So it didn't surprise me to see JV put up almost 50 yards in his preseason debut.

Great points, and I hope to see some more challenging play in the next 3 games for both. I do think vaughn could make the PS, but it is a long haul for all rookies.

I'd like to see what Hardy does against a first team offensive line. We know he can handle the 2nd and 3rd teamers, now do it against the guys who play

He was working with Gross in the last few practices. That should tell you something right there. I think they prob will stick with Brown on the first team though. They want him to succeed cause they have invested a lot into him.

Maybe, but Brayton had 2 sacks in 1 Qtr against the great o-line of the Ravens. Is Brayton not playing? If not then I agree he should see time along his spot

Brayton is out last time I checked. Brown was penciled in as the starter.

Damn, I was afraid of that...I cannot see anything on the injury report at the team site...but had a bad feeling when he was reported absent from practice. Well, we have got to get him healthy for RS...everytime I watch the replay..I get sick! He was showing his stuff at Woffard and I saw big things for him this season..ughhh!

    • First, am I wrong? I looked back over all his posts here and I didn't see anything positive other than Shough. Second, pretty sure if you had read the post I was responding to, you would have seen CRA made poo personal as well . You just choose to address me instead of him. Not sure why?????
    • I wanted XL but I felt he should have been a 2nd rounder but I understand the logic trading up just to get the option. A safety net for your gamble.    Certainly disappointed with his receivers development but i like his down field blocking and I imagine that's what's keeping him on the field.
    • Pretty sure it is a given Young lacks typical QB size and strength and he is here simply because his other attributes more than make up for it. My point is not to indicate anyone "settled" for him but rather to remind people that there have been plenty of big, strong QB's that have not lived up to expectations. Jamis Winston, Anthony Richardson, Trey Lance, JaMarcus Russel are a few examples. They all have the physical attributes coveted by teams and yet none have had sustained success in the NFL. And yes, there are QBs that do have both but there aren't many and some of the ones still playing were failures with their early teams. Saying Young is a bust simply based upon his size (and I do think it is as simple as that for a few guys around here) is unfair to both him and the team.
