If Fox is Gone Next Year, How Would You Feel about an In-House Hire?

hmm...i suppose you all are right about Davidson. Being honest w/ myself, that has been my thinking-- I have no clue what Davidson actually wants to do w/ the offense. My first choice is still Gruden. I think he could light a fire under this team.

I like a defensive minded coach,so i would go with Ron Meeks.

I would prefer Gruden over Cowher. Cowher is the same style of coach as Fox. If we want someone to invigorate the offense, Cowher is certainly not the guy.

LOL But there is a big difference in Cowher and Fox. Fox has only had 3 winning seasons been 2 NFC Championship twice and won one of them and went to the SB and lost. Cowher has had 10 winning seasons out of 15 and been many AFC Championships and went 2 SBs and won one of them. Fox is a good Coach. But Cowher has proven he can Build a great D and win Back to Back seasons unlike fox and he is much more proven then Fox and Gruden conbined.:yikes:

Fwiw, if you look at both of them's record after 8 years, they aren't that different regarding wins and losses. Cowher went to more playoff games, but that is at least partially because Pittsburgh played in a weak division, at least for the first few years. The Oilers have had a few decent teams, but other than that, you have perennial bottom dwellers. But in Fox's 8 years, three teams including the Panthers have made it to the Superbowl from our division. Tampa Bay was consistently good in the early years, and New Orleans and Atlanta have been good teams the last few years.

But the main point is that Cowher isn't going to be much in the way of a style change. Folks complain about the offense under Fox, but the offense under Cowher will be about the same, and I doubt we will win any Superbowls unless Cowher drafts another big Ben or Clausen becomes our big Ben.
