Analysis: Preseason Game 3

I'm confused on what happened in Indy? Did Meeks just need a defensive minded team, I'm impressed.

When Jim Caldwell took over from Tony Dungy, the Colts parted ways with Meeks. From what I remember, Caldwell just wanted to go in a different direction as far as scheme (more blitzing). As to how it came down, I've read in some places that he resigned, while others say he was dismissed. I guess the best answer is that it was mutual.

Gamble, Marshall, Capt., and Wilson (maybe Wilson) are more or less locked up as corners. I'm thinking we are likely to keep 5.

Since Wilson has some safety experience (although he is much better IMO at man coverage)....And I'm thinking Hudson has been playing safety....And Franscisco seems like any injury after thought....

Are you guys thinking an entire crew of 9 DBs? If so, who?

A #2 wr ABSOLUTELY has to emerge for this team to go far. I feel fine about every area of the team but ST. Goodson might have nailed down KR and maybe Kenny Moore for PR.

Things don't seem bleak but there are lot's of improvement left.

Lafell showed some good stuff out there tonight. He missed a high ball that one play but came right back with a circus catch and a was wide open when Moore missed him. He and Gettis are getting better every game. Its also seems like Jarrett and Moore are doing the opposite or well what they do every year.

I love how you disregard the fact that if our QB had put a pass on the money Jarrett has a 40 something yard TD tonight.....

Yea and I also left out the fact that if Moore would have hit LaFell on that crossing route it would have gone for a TD. Hindsight is great aint it.....

Are you talking about the pass were the DB stopped running once he realized that it was going to take Jarrett ten minutes to reach the end zone even IF he did catch the ball?

    • Carolina Way is gone, it went out the window with the Belichick hiring. They'll hire the best coach they can, ignoring everything else if possible.    Athletic reports that the school's top two targets are Tommy Lloyd and Billy Donovan. They don't care the buyout for a coach either, they and the boosters are willing to spend and will be going outside of the coaching family tree 100%.
    • I don't think it's a homer though when I really feel this team can beat anyone.  The points that can be scored in bunches when the big three are on has high potential.  Moose has effort for days and IMO is the heart of the team.  And didn't see Miles becoming the team "vet" in the starting lineup just roleplaying lol.   We have to limit the turnovers though (Brandon Miller I'm looking at you bud, you are a bad ball handler) and some little things.   Colby off the bench is a cheat code and him and Kaulk have a nice little game going with the picks.    Sion playing every game and just getting better each game.  He has grit.  Grant and Green also grit.  We need replace Tillman with PJ Hall though.  Tillman looks like someone that shouldn't be on an NBA court, or at least with this team, he's just too slow for this tempo.   Even McNeely looked decent tonight and can drive.   If Kaulk and Moose could even be like 30% 3pt shooters man....
