One thing is for certain this season

As bad as Jake was and it still took an injury to get him off the field with the same head coach- why the hell do people keep thinking this is going to be any different? And why should it be any different? I've yet to see anything that would suggest Claussen is any better than Moore.

Pedigree? WTF does that mean in the NFL? Phil Simms's kid is the #4 QB for the Titans which kind of kills anyone's idea of pedigree.

"Then they never should have drafted a "high calibre" QB. You can blame the FO for any chatter."

And who decided Claussen was a "high caliber" QB? Exactly what did he do in college? What did he win? And if he is so "high effing caliber", why did nobody else draft him ahead of Carolina?

Good thing Fox doesn't listen to the fans. Because if he did, the year would look like this:

Week#1 Moore

#2 Moore

#3 Moore

#4 Clausen

#5 Clausen

#6 Moore

#7 Moore

#8 Clausen

#9 Moore

#10 Pike

#11 Cantwell

#12 Clausen

#13 Moore

#14 Pike

#15 Moore

#16 Jamarcus Russell

Not quite,

Week

#1 Moore

#2 Moore

#3 Clausen

#4 Clausen

#5 Clausen

#6 Cantwell

#7 Delhomme (via trade w/Browns)

#8 Weinke

#9 Testaverde

#10 Testaverde

#11 Armanti Edwards

#12 1st Quarter - Random guy from crowd (breaks arm)

#12 1 pass - David Carr (gets sacked, refuses to go back in)

#12 2nd Quarter - Jamarcus Russell (leaves to "get a drink", doesn't return)

#12 2nd half - Nothing but wildcat (it works)

#13 Delhomme (Loyalty bonus)

#14 Colt McCoy (was part of Delhomme trade)

#15 ? (Picks random name out of a box)

#16 Moore

Someone's letting their college bias leak through.

You really want to argue that Clausen isn't a high-caliber prospect?

QB talent looks like a push right now.. with Moore having years of NFL experience (compared to Jimmy's 3 months), playing with an actual Center (Jimmy is still waiting for a Bernadeau snap to float down to him) and somewhat decent OLine play.

The meltdown is going to be epic when we let Moore go at the end of the season.

The 4-year, $6.3M dollar question: Why did 31 other teams pass on the guy if he was so highly touted, disregarding the fact he got housed in every big game he played in...

Teams never ever make mistakes come draft day.

See:

Jarrett, D

Leinart, M

Russell, J

Also, I too was outraged at the pitiful defensive and rushing stats Clausen put up while at ND. He also didn't block for poo. He only really put up very good numbers at QB. What a one-dimensional loser.

Edit: How stupid were we to draft Greg Hardy in the 6th? That guy, I heard he has motor issues, might have a bad attitude AND an injury issue to boot. Some teams passed over him 8 times.. what a completely useless scrub of a player.

Sorry, I thought maybe someone leaked Claussen's AKC registration and everyone knows he's really Jon Gruden's love-child......

Gruden is a great announcer for the same reason he is a bad one; he has something good to say about every player.

I do like the way both of our quarterbacks are spreading the ball around.

I mean, maybe it's because there's no Smitty to garner most of the looks but I have noticed both of the guys going through their progressions (when they have time) and doing a decent job of it.

Moore starts, Clausen only gets a look in the regular season if there's an injury (unless we're out of the playoff race the last four games--then he might get a look so we have two quarterbacks to choose from as trade bait).

The 'start Clausen' chatter is going to be unbearable. You thought 'start Wienke' was bad?

Moore is going to have a bad game. Moore is going to throw INTs. And then it will start. The regular season hasn't even begun and it has started(hell it started before TC).

That is the nature of the beast.

The favorite QB is always the backup. Now that Moore is the starter, he will no longer be the favorite. Doesn't help that he's on a 1 year "prove he belongs" contract. So many fans view that he's gone at the end of the season regardless of his play.

Moore is definitely the leader of our offense. While our offense has struggled, and many blame more, our o-line hasn't done much to help. Neither has our receivers. Moore is a pretty accurate passer. His high throws will come down, once the o-line starts playing like it is capable of.
