Patrick Crayton may be available by trade or from being cut.

There's been talk about the Cowboys trading wide receiver Patrick Crayton since the day Dallas drafted Dez Bryant, and it apparently won't go away until the Cowboys cut Crayton, keep him on the 53-man roster, or find a trading partner.

Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com reports that the Cowboys are exploring the trade market for Crayton, and if they can't make a deal, there's a decent chance they'll cut him.

IMO, not worth trading for considering what the Cowboys probably want for him but picking him up after he was cut is a different story.

i actually wouldn't mind crayton at all...even with his age. he's going to come in feeling pissed and disrespected with a huge chip on his shoulder and the potential to be dangerous with it. just the type of guy we need.

the only draw back is his tendency to drop passes at the absolute worse times. he's about as bad of a choker as romo.

I am on the band wagon for trading for Patrick Crayton, he can catch and can return punts better than anyone on this roster, other than Smitty.

I seriously doubt this will happen because of Crayton's age and the fact we are in a youth movement.

Since we are in a cost cutting mode and he has $ 2 million contract, will not help the case to obtain him, either.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
