Has anyone heard that if Moore does good he will be traded

I'm just curious as to when people who follow the Panthers look at Matt Moore as a below average quarterback? Granted he hasn't had a full year to show his abilities, he has had plenty of starts to show he can win (6-2). Ah the power of drafting Jimmy Clausen, gave people fresh blood to believe in...yet he has proven even less in this league than the guy behind the center right now.

Because he is a high draft pick, so he has to be better than Moore. :D

If they're both actually good QBs, they will both not be on this roster at the same time past next year. We will not sit Jimmy because Moore is very young and could be here for eight years. At the same time, we will not get rid of Matty if he pulls off incredible numbers. One of them WILL be gone. It's up to Moore to tell us who that will be.

Tell that to the Packers.

I don't buy the notion that we won't keep two good quarterbacks.

I think ONE of those two Packer QBs had a BIT to do with Rodgers sitting all those years. Moore can't demand anything like Favre did. Not to mention, ONE of those two was a TAD old and was supposed to hand it over to the younger one. Moore is not old.

Ah, but Moore not being old could just as easily mean that he sticks around longer if he proves to be that good.

Mind you, I'm not about to predict a Favre/Rodgers situation on the Panthers. But could something like that happen here on a lesser scale? Sure.

I'll be shocked if Matt is still here next year.

Nothing says confidence in your quarterback quite like your teammates voting Steve Smith as a captain over you, when everyone and their mother knows that something like that is going to be picked apart by the media because there's a huge quarterback controversy here to begin with.

I don't know if Moore will be here next year or not, but I seriously doubt the captain thing has anything to do with it. I would be surprised if a QB with 8 games under his belt is going to be captain over a star receiver who has been doing it for more than 10 years.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
