cruise help?

I hate cruises. Never been on one, ive just seen the people that get off those ships and couldnt imagine being on there with them.

Not to mention their ports of call, which are nothing more than stores of junk trinkets and stupid bars like Carlos and Charlies.

but to each their own

Hmmm...I'm not a fan of hating things I've never tried.

Sure they have those places but they have tons of other things to do too. We rarely shop and would never go to a Carlos and Charlies.

For instance when we go to Cozumel which has all those things you named, we are going to rent a Jeep Wrangler for the day, go to some old Mayan ruins, visit a beach on the other side of the island, snorkel and eat at local Mexican restaurant.

he's edgy thats why

I get his point, but I'm not there for the ports. I'm there for the ship.

Wife and I did 7 days on R/C Freedom of the Seas for our honeymoon. 4 days in I am lying in bed thinking "this is by far the absolutely most relaxed I have ever been in my life". I love ship life, loved the buffets. We brought a box of wine with us and the steward didn't say a thing.

Ooh! Go to Pancho's Backyard and get the green hot sauce and tequila shots, you can thank me when you get back

Thanks for the tip. I've heard that place is good though I'm pretty sure I'm staying away from mixing hot sauce and tequila. I can't handle tequila anymore. it's just not worth it.

Another tip.

Most cruise lines let you carry on a bottle of wine per passenger.

But they were very rude to me for suggesting one firearm per passenger.

It makes perfect sense to me. I know that pirates hold up cruise ships. And if the movies serve as any idicator, the Caribbean is loaded with Pirates.

lol TheSaint hates cruises but his description of ports of call sound just like New Orleans to me...

haha...touche'

NOLA definitely has its share of tourist traps...

Here's my deal, and bias against cruises. No, im not edgy, and actually, i would do an Alaskan or Mediterranean cruise.. We used to go to Playa del Carmen, Mx quite a bit. We liked it. It was very laid back, the town was very cool.

At one point, the cruise ships started making it one of their stops. Things changed. It wasnt as laid back, the vendors started getting more aggressive (like Coz). Yelling at you and insulting you in espanol when you walked by. They even added an authentic mexican TGI Fridays. The vibe changed.

So maybe it isnt a good reason, but thats my take. And like i said, to each their own. Just like Atlantis. Ive stayed there (wife work trip). Its definitely an impressive place and we had a good time. But i wouldnt choose to go there for a vacation. Moon Palace, outside cancun, went there for a work trip. Wouldnt stay there again unless it were free, it truly sucked, not even close to Atlantis. I guess im just not a fan of big resorts.

Oh, another Cruise Tip:

Buy the biggest bottle of Mint Scope or other mouthwash you can find. Dump out the mouthwash, rinse the bottle out well. Fill with vodka and add a bit of blue food coloring. Voila!

Norwegian or Royal carribean...much better than carnival if u ask me.

Depends on what you are looking for.

Nowegian and Royal Carribean are a little more expensive and are a more upscale. From that, you will prob get a little older and laid back crowd.

Carnival has gone after the young, partying crowd. They are less expensive and more of a frat party atomosphere.

    • Yep. It was an obvious red flag that a lot of people ignored. The results/scores in preseason don’t matter, but individual performance very much does and individually, we looked like the least talented team in the league and it carried over.
    • Sorry, but in 2015, we didn’t look like poo to the extent of 2023. People who said it’s just preseason were completely wrong. Simple as that. 2015 was a veteran lead team. It was Cam’s 5th year and Luke’s 4th. Even our OL was 80% the same (added Oher) as the great run to finish 2014 with a playoff win. That year can be labeled as preseason doesn’t matter because I’m sure we rested vets and well, Ron/Mike weren’t putting in special plays, etc. I absolutely don’t recall a bunch of us saying that Turner was getting killed on one on ones or that Luke was completely out of position or that Norman was hurt again but probably fine. The only thing that was right about the 2023 preseason is that the minority of us who saw it, were correct that we A) should have been making Young and others play 100% of the reps as there was nothing to hide and B) the preseason means nothing was a bunch of BS trying to stay optimistic when it was obvious that we had way less good talent than the rest of the NFL.
    • You are telling me Paul Maurice is a better coach than Rod??? Yes!!!  It’s because he plays a better system and has a better goalie.   Our system sucks in playoffs and he refuses to roll with Koochie. Dallas cowboys level poo
