Hahaha Jerry, you're facing a potential blackout on Sunday

im more anit richardson then anyone in this organization. what he is doing is absolutly pathetic putting the nfl over panthers. everyone who wants to stick up for him and say he is a business man well fu ck that. im sure the steinbreners were business men as well and imagine if george put the MLB over the yankees, yeah it would never happen. This is also coming from a mets fan. he promised us a super bowl within 10 years, i know your getting old jerry but its been past ten years and you failed with your promise. you failed and you still have the audacity to go cheap, get out of here. this team isnt mediocre because we have a mediocre coach or a mediocre QB like everyone claims, but instead we have a mediocre owner.

1. PSL owners have purchased all but approximately 3000 seats per game- that's where the organization wants to keep it.

2. Those 3000 or so seats are the ones that go on sale to the public in July/August.

3. If the game is not sold out it is because those 3000 or so general public available tickets have not been sold since they went on sale weeks ago.

That being said, I still have 4 seats together for the 6 home games that were already paid for by the PSL owner. They have been purchased by the PSL owner, but they will be empty Sunday because he has normally sold these to a couple of long-time friends who will no longer attend and I have not been able to move them at all for face value.

So, it's not just the 900 that have not been sold, but it's also all the PSL already paid for seats that will also be empty come Sunday. When that happens it look horrible on TV because it's technically sold out even though only 45,000 went through the turnstiles. That's why the NFL uses ticket sales in figuring attendance, not actual butts in seats numbers.

that sounds like jobs created or saved...

You guys won't be blacked out as we were on opening day. :o

With only 900 left, either they will be sold by Thursday 1pm or the owner has a loophole in the rule to buy them himself at around 1/3 value (the visiting team's gate receipt share) to lift the blackout.

Can't imagine he wouldn't do that unless he's a lousy business guy.

Man, isn't it amazing how much the Huddle has changed in its feelings towards the owner? Just a couple of years ago, if you said the slightest negative thing about Jerry Richardson, you were slammed beyond belief by scores of Huddler white knights. Now the tide has finally turned against, not just the front office guys like Fox/Hurney, but even Richardson himself to the point where that whiteknightism is almost gone completely.

This is the first year there's reason for the hate.

Panther Nation cried out for a WR to be drafted that would make an impact.. so far that has not panned out for us. Panther Nation cried to pick up some of the Firesale WR's to bolster our corps.. Didn't happen. It sucked and we haven't forgot.

Now, Jerry is crying out for Panther Nation to buy his tickets, but we haven't forgot what he hasn't done for us. I'm not going to a game this year and if there are blackouts, so be it. You reap what you sow and so far, Jerry is sowing duds.

This makes you happy?

So what's new? When someone says they love the owner losing money, or fans having to miss out on a televised edition, you have to wonder. There is a pattern of owner bashing here, what it is about confuses me as much as I seem to confuse JR haters...how can anyone want the guy to succeed is the mantra for some fans, and I simply don't like it or get the reasoning.

I wish one JR basher could name me a suitable owner who they are willing to bet their PSL's can get us a quick SB ring.

Other than the fact he is stunting the Panthers back years by putting the NFL first in the upcoming CBA's?

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
