I was of the same thinking as OP, but this week it more shows what the Panthers are about than anything about Jarret. Panthers aren't concerned about playing the best players and are not committed to winning. David Gettis has nothing and Jarett was the 2nd best receiver last week anyway.

nah, he just rarely plays. He has played 2 snaps. Wide open on his first one. Jarrett just is better when Carolina is running more pass oriented plays. He isn't good in 2 WR sets where he has to get off the line quickly.

I've begun to think they're only holding on to him in the hope that they'll be able to trade him for something if some other team loses a receiver to injury.

Granted, he could still show up, but we only have three receivers today, and we're sticking with two receiver and two TE sets. Doesn't look good.

I think, to a point, it might also just be that against Tampa 2, he'd always see that press. And any receiver that might get a CB to back off, as much as we're running, is a good thing. And he looks eager to block, whereas Jarrett? I dunno.

to hell with it. A lot of people around here champion Jarrett like he is something, or has ever done anything here. Practice, preseason, anything. I'm a fan of this team. I don't care if this particular player is the one getting the chances. Good work rook, earning some time and some targets.
