Panthers quarterback Moore downcast, but says he will maintain his focus

One thing I can almost guarantee... if Fox is here next year, Moore won't be. I wouldn't work for a guy who did this to me unless there was no where else to go to make a living. Fox is screwing him by pulling him after only two games...

Moore didn't help himself any with poor play. He didn't elevate the team, he fell down with it.

Now... that being said...

Back in April, I said Fox didn't like Moore. I stand by that. I think there is some sort of personal issue there. Delhomme was benched only after we lost a legit shot at the playoffs (11 games). Moore has been benched after two games for a Rookie.

There's no explanation for this other than loyalty for Jake, and a lack of that same loyalty for Matt. Maybe Fox learned a lesson from last year... but such a dynamic flip-flop usually has less than logical explanations.

at least some ones on track.......fox is a tard sitting jarrett and moore....i can name 3 other starting qbs who have far worst stats then moore but yet they will be starting next week.....moore was set up for the get go

Really 3 other QB's???? Moore has the second lowest Rating next to Flacco, He has the lowest comp percentage of all qb's that have thrown in the reg season. Has 6 turnovers through 2 games and barely has 300 yards on 49 throws.....I'd like to know these other 3 QB's....

I am glad I read past the first page of threads to get this...so I am not replicating.

Matt is royally peeved, it showed in his face (post game press conf.) and it sounded clearly in his responses to anything about the choice telegraphed on Monday to everyone. As stated, he sat and watched Jake get owned and just waited his turn...when it came he produced. Numerous doubters prevailed, but it seemed like Matt was getting his chance.

WE all agreed, generally, that it was Matt's job to lose and sho 'nuff he did, and thus the anger opens up. Matt's got to get over it (he's still got his $3.4 million) and, frankly, Clausen's got to calm down...he's already feeling the height from the pedistal. JC's getting all this too early, IMHO, and just needs to settle in.

Just let me say that John Fox has, in his swansong season, shown what we wanted from him all along, these past few season's, a common sense decision that overrules pig headedness!

Ding, ding, ding ,ding...

We have a winner folks!

The clue to making this statement true is to watch the play calling and see if it is any different. If the team shows more formations, quicker developing plays, and basically anything that has been shown in past years, but not this year, then this will be true.

Fox and Davidson are grasping at straws, and this will buy them a couple of games. I am a Panther fan first and foremost.

I feel bad for Matt, but what he has done thus far will earn him a spot somewhere else next year.

It might seem far fetched but could it be that John Fox is feeling the pressure Matt now feels? It is no secret that numerous pundits are mentioning that teams like Dallas may be looking for the same mid season layoffs Washington had to struggle with.

It still is reasonable to think that Fox has to show flexibility and decisiveness to some future employer..something he's been proven, lately, not willing to concede to.

And what of Davidson and/or Meeks? How many believe that John Fox is the culprit and they merely the mouthpieces? Moore may be "downcast" but he's no outcast and will find work!

or maybe he screwed himself. he just has not looked comfortable as the main guy, maybe clausen's promotion is coming from the top or maybe the coaches feel they need to change. no need to compare him to dehlomme cause he doesn't have the resume(03 nfc championship,03 superbowl, 2 division champioships,2 nfc champioship games,5-3 playoff record,59 career wins)

Quite right! Anyone who thinks this is because JF did not lke him is only 40% right...put yourself in MM's shoes...you get the starting position, win some key late games, and then go into OS thinking "hey, I've made it!" Then along comes the draft and suddenly word's out...you ain't what the base sees as a "future" for this team, and they fallen into rose fertilizer...a kid who wants your job...NOW!

JD's resume' aside, you ain't JF's adoptee...and you sure don't have pedigree.

Just one thought for JC...be careful what you wish for, and when it comes just think ND!

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
