Clausen gets advice support, ahead of first start

how is that different than what jake had most of the time here?

But I thought the whole point was NOT to have another Jake?;)

Not that I think what he did in college is going to translate with the Panthers. I'm sure he's learned some things through training camp, and regular practice with the Panthers, and will continue to learn throughout each and every week of the season.

One thing that we also need to keep in mind is that not only is Clausen a young starting first year rookie.....but a really young first year rookie that also went pro during his junior year of college, not senior year.

The beautiful part in all of this is that if Clausen is indeed the real McCoy, then he can actually "waste" the next 2 years on learning and that's when he'll actually begin to reach his prime playing age. If he is the deal....he'll be in prime shape at the age of 25. From 25-33(and that's the earliest before his skills may begin to fade...but could be even longer) that's 8 prime playing years. The Panthers should do something with 8 years of consistency, assuming he doesn't suffer any season-ending injuries.

i'm not really advocating weiss to be our HC, but i really wouldnt be upset if that is who we get. just depends on who else is availible.

but, your right. weiss's failure at ND wasnt because of his coaching ability, he just couldnt recruit as well as the SEC and Oklahoma, Texas, etc.

honestly, who really wants to play for ND anymore? that was the whole problem.

well, i think part of it did have to do with his coaching and system. it's way to complex for a bunch of college kids to get. they generally don't have the ability to understand nor do they have the time to put into the studying that needs to be done to make it work.

he was a bad fit for any college. he needs to stay with the grown ups.
