Fox: Too Early to Name QB for Next Week

Remember when Brady first got the job in NE? What was said in a post-game interview? "We will rally around Tom Brady..." Brady had 2 TERRIBLE games (QB rating below 60 I think) before he came on and had a good start in 2001. What about in St. Louis with Kurt Warner? "We will rally around Kurt..."

Fox, if Moore starts next week, I hope you poo yourself on a crowded bus while a dog licks your taint and your wife kills a kitten.

This was part of John Fox's conspiracy theory.

Everyone knows how overly loyal he is to his veterans, but the heat on Matt was big.

And, according to Fox Theory, all rookies are terrible players-so he figured he'd just stick Jimmy out there, Jimmy would play terribly, and he could play Moore the rest of the season-no questions asked.

There was only one, big, gigantic hole in his theory...

Jimmy looked good.

You have to have a little respect for the Bucs and Jets. Sanchez and Freeman looked like complete crap for most of their rookie year and their respected teams stuck with them. It has paid off. Freeman looks much better his second year than he did his first, so does Sanchez (well, against the Pats anyway).

Who knows? Maybe we'd have different opinions on Quinn and Anderson had the Browns let one of them play no matter what. Instead of switching them back and forth.

I can't believe Fox made those comments, what a fool. I usually don't get involved in the "fire fox" topics but the statements he made after the game today are just delusional.

At this point, you have to make Jimmy the guy. I mean did he really expect a complete turn around in this game and Clausen to throw 4 tds?

You've lost it Fox, you've lost the team... the fans... and logical thinking patterns. The time for change is here, pack your poo Fox

Fox never commits on anything until after watching film on Monday. Would any of you want it any other way? Do you want him making decisions on the future in emotional post game moments or after studying the situation?...Geeeez.

But he could've offered Jimmy his support... Honestly, IDK that Jimmy is clearly better than Matt at this point... He looked better at points, he throws a lot prettier ball, but as far as reads and such, IDK... But, that is irrelevant now... Once he made the change to a guy with such hype as Jimmy he needed to stick with it and put your full support behind him...

IF he wasn't ready to go all in with him, he shouldn't have pulled Matt... At this point, he may just be better off resigning, but he may be hoping JR fires him so he can have his name out there for all the jobs that come open first.

Can anyone confirm he said this?

I mean, I can't get over how stupid a comment this was.

Even if he was just trying to be "Secret John" like usual, a stupid comment like that will hurt Clausen's confidence, and the team.

I freakin hate you John Fox.

Cranston's our AP reporter, it's as reliable as you get...

Its consistent with what he has always done. Fox never commits to anything post game. To do so would be Andy Reid like. He will watch film and decide. If you think about it that is the best way to handle it. It takes emotion out of the decision process.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
