This is what everybody wanted. Everybody always said Jake was just a mediocre QB, we couldn't be a great offense with him, we should find a true franchise QB. Well, that's what JR and the front office are trying to do. We got a guy lots of people thought was gonna be a top 10 pick, and we're throwing him out there and letting him develop. It's gonna take time. Likewise, we needed a number 2 receiver, so we drafted 3 guys. Two of them, LaFell and Gettis, have shown a little promise, but they too need time to learn the pro game. We could have kept Jake or Josh McCown or signed Byron Leftwitch, or just left Moore in, and kept Moose, or gotten Houshmanzada or Boldin, and we'd be an 8-8, maybe even 9-7 team. Instead, we decided to forge a new identity. There's gonna be growing pains this year, big ones. We're gonna lose a lot of games. But we're also gonna get to enjoy watching some guys develop. Gettis is gonna make a few plays, Clausen is gonna have some good throws, Hardy will make at least one game changing play this year on defense. It will be fun to see Goodson and LaFell get a chance to get the ball in their hands some. Enjoy watching the team develop, cheer for the wins we do get and realize that things are getting better. Yes, JR wanted to go cheap in the last year of the CBA, but it also happened to be a good time to lay the foundation for the future of the team as well. It's not like we're never gonna sign a free agent again. The tickets will be cheap, the huddle tailgates will be just as awesome, and in a few years, when the team is winning again, you can tell your fairweather friends that you were there through the lean times.

I have the same kind of optimism as you. we knew the game was going to be sloppy. Im really believing we have some truly ignorant fans. Seems like the majority of them is on this site. +/- some

Basicially I feel that you are ignorant if you believed that a rookie qb was going to get his first professional game and not make mistakes. its not like he made awful decisions like the opponent qb. He played like a learning rookie. PERIOD. You looking at all these numbers and stats n shyt. F*ck the numbers. He played like all the other greats did when they was a rookie..And to credit Clausen's situation compared to the rest, the others probably didn't have their first in the rain...

    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.
    • Dan's been talking about upgrading CB since beginning of free agency
    • I'm more of a Hornets fan than I am a Panthers fan, I've watched a ton of this franchise the last 20 years. I post all day on RealGM. Don't get your hopes up, this is setting us up for a 20 point loss to the Heat and a swift end to the season. Spoelstra has always solved us, the Heat have two bigs that we have no answers for, and Jaquez is a certified Hornets killer that always plays us like he has a grudge on us. The Hornets being a top 10 team all year and a top 5 team the last half of the year and then flat out missing the playoffs is incredibly on brand for this crappy, horrendous franchise. I would love to be proven wrong. But I've suffered enough to know this little scheme the team is pulling. We finished 2 games out of 6th and guaranteed playoffs, and we blew two games to the Pacers and Nets earlier in the season, when they weren't trying to win. It's just who we are, Hornets DNA
