a Panthers win over the Saints?

I'm calling it right here. Panthers over the Saints.

Reasons

1. We normally play pretty well with our backs against the wall.

2. Clausen's nerves should be better with one game under his belt.

3. We have nothing to lose.

4. Saints are suspect against the run.

5. I've had a few margaritas tonight.

I expect mad rep after I'm proven right.

I expect sympathy if I'm wrong. These are damn fine margaritas after all.

I respect your prediction...

But I'm not handing out sympathy.

I expect the Panthers to win every week. In fact, every year my standings in my Yahoo pro pick 'em are almost always decided by if Carolina has a good season or not, because I pick them every week. In fact this year I am as of this writing four games out of first, and the Panthers cost me 3.

I like your thinking at least you give some elaboration to support your prediction.

I think the Panthers are way in over their heads in this game from a coaching and execution standpoint.

We can't hold a lead against this Saints offense. We proved that last year when we jumped out to a lead and they swallowed us up by the end of the game. D-will had a big fumble if I remember correctly. Not saying that will happen again but seriously...What makes you think we won't have at least 2 or 3 turnovers in this game?

We would have to simultaneously contain Drew Brees (for more than just 30 mins) and rush for probably about 200 yards just to have a chance.

You're right, its not impossible...but this game has IMPROBABLE written all over it...

I'd like our chances better in Charlotte (though not by much). Saints make it look easy at home. 34-16

you guys are dreaming idiots haha, wow. Theres litterally no logical reason to think we have a chance.. Suspect against the run? oh cool because its just been the vaunted rush defenses of the giants and bucs that we could do NOTHING against that was stopping us. I want us to win but you people are unintelligent.

I say carolina wins today because Brees, Thomas, Sharper and Bush are all hurt. Carolina, statiscally, has always played better on the road and especially in NO. I think Jimmy has a good day since he doent have to endure the elements he can focus on just getting the ball to his receivers. Goodson and lafell both score TD's today.

Forum 101 tip: When using a forum to call other people unintelligent, be sure to use proper spelling and grammar.

:)

Also, to think we have no chance is just silly. The difference between the haves and have-nots in the NFL is often separated by a few plays. If Matt Moore doesn't overthrow a couple of receivers we've got one "W" in the books already. If we don't miss two defensive assignments, same thing.

All I'm pointing out is that it's tough to say we have no chance, no matter how bad we've looked so far.

    • Having trouble finding all these articles saying the Raiders withheld information. Here’s the latest from Crosby’s surgeon: ElAttrache told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday morning that Crosby was "doing very well in the early part of his rehab and recovery from surgery to treat a significant meniscus tear and the related stress injury to the bone and cartilage in his knee. He is certainly on track in his planned program." "We truly respect the work of the Ravens' staff with Maxx regarding the contract physical exam. We also understand the challenge the staff faces when tasked to provide a future risk assessment based on an evaluation early in the recovery process," ElAttrache said. "This is especially challenging when dealing with an elite player like Maxx considering the level of commitment necessary for a team to obtain him. The timing of this assessment is unfortunate because the apparent risk will lessen as his recovery progresses and his return to performance over the next few months becomes clear."     So the Ravens excuse is the future risk assessment based on the physical, not that the Raiders withheld information. They found an excuse to save face publicly. They had the right to cancel the trade for no reason at all, but they’re trying to save face with the most acceptable reasoning they can find. I’ve heard and seen the Ravens getting dragged everywhere for this. You know what would be an easy way to put a stop to that if you’re the Ravens and the Raiders were actually the shady ones withholding information? Just come out and say that you were not given all the medical information. But they aren’t saying that. I guess they’re just taking the bullet for the Raiders just because?    Speculation indeed.
    • Two first round picks for a guy with very questionable knees who will be 29 this summer. Yes it is safe to say the Ravens got cold feet.
    • The salary cap is the reason we got Phillips and Lloyd
