Offense is Terrible

Clausen was terrible. He improvised good but besides that he did nothing good yesterday. Poor time management batted balls at the line and Missing receivers. Dont believe the stats as they dont show the true performance. Should had have atleast 1 maybe 2 INTS.

It all starts and ends with the big uglies. Those batted passes almost had me chuck my beer at the tv though...

u cant blame that on the OL even though his pockets were pretty ridiculous. The guy needs to move around if possible in said pocket and throw in a fuking passing lane.

It was not a great performance but then again he was in one of the loudest places in the NFL. The fact is we almost won the game. If we can build on that next we maybe we can get a win. I just hope he continues to improve.

While it true that the place gets loud it wasnt that loud for most of the game. When it did get loud he had trouble getting the plays off in time. But it still doesnt excuse the bad throws and throwing into the defensive line.

Hey, there was one incredibly creative play yesterday. Putting Stewie on the far outside and having him run down the sidelines to catch a touchdown pass was the first bit of actual creativity I have seen out of the team so far.

And let's face it, we're so danged vanilla in our play calling that Nawlins didn't even bother to cover him.

One new play, one touchdown. See what happens when someone uses their head and doesn't just pull another page from the 1989 Cleveland Browns playbook?

Overall, we were just lackluster. Couple of good catches from Gettis, one great run and a handful of good ones from DWill, and a heads up play by Jeff King.

Beyond that, Claussen played better but is still quite underwhelming, the O-line was unremarkable (which could be argued is actually an improvement), my 88-year old grandma could have converted more third downs than the team did, and Dwayne Jarrett looked like a total dumbass on the famous "Where did the ball go?" play.

And now Smitty will be gone for a few weeks, which might not be a big deal. Claussen couldn't find Smitty in a phone booth.

I think that was just blown coverage, but whatever, sometimes you take what is given. But I hope Davidson noticed what happened on our next possession. The run game opened up a little bit, just because of one long pass. With this Oline you have to pass the ball to open up the run, So I really hope somebody besides a fan at home noticed this...

    • I did not, this reminds me of another live action type video game that never made it and has a huge cult following. Thanks for the 90s nostalgia frend!! My gods do I miss that era at USAs peak and it was my best on many aspects too.
    • Many layers my frend- Panthers had a draft recently. They picked 4 defense players. Each player picked 11, 22, 33, 55 as their number. For some players that number match the round or pre-draft round rank, example- Prince was a 3rd rounder and choose 33. Nic was a 1st rounder on some mock drafts and Dan Morgan said they had him as a 1st, he picked 11. Cam Jackson recently switched his number to 55, same as draft and has been telling Dave he wants to be special over and over.  The 44 was to add GOAT feels, thoughts, and more intrigue to this rookie phenomenon. X files cause it was a great TV show and maybe it was playing when this theory came together.......   I hope this helps!
    • The best things Purdy has are certainly important tools for any QB. His accuracy his timing his decision making etc. I feel like he is a high end Teddy Bridgewater. You can compete and win in the regular season with this especially in a weakened NFC but where his limitations come into focus is when you are trying to contend for a Super Bowl you are going against elite and in some instances generational QB's like Mahomes. And when the time has come for him to go up against Mahomes he simply can't get it done. Now certainly he is not alone in that regard and people will point to another highly regarded QB such as Josh Allen who also cannot get by Mahomes. But the difference I see is Allen is not IMO at a phsyical disadvantage in that matchup whereas Purdy is. And that is with what had been to this point a comically stacked roster around Purdy and let's be clear we cannot understate that regardless of which side of the fence we land on in this debate. Purdy has had a top 5 roster and a top 5 coach. And the last time they went to the Super Bowl they leaned on McCaffrey extremely heavily. Now with what they are having to pay him and divert limited resources elsewhere they face a steep climb to get back to the Super Bowl let alone actually win it.
