Looks like great weather for Sunday's home game vs. the Bears. Tailgating will start early at 8 am featuring Ranucci's and there will be plenty.

This week's tailgate is sponsored by WebFullCircle (www.WebFullCircle.com) Web Full Circle is an award winning, nationally recognized web design and internet marketing firm that caters to small and mid-size businesses. We thank them for their sponsorship because without them we couldn't offer what we do. The sponsorship money pays for all the food and drinks and allows fans on the website to tailgate hassle free. Just show up, eat and drink, and throw some money in the donation bucket. 100% of all donations go towards the year end Toys for Tots drive at the stadium. To date, the Huddle has donated more than $18,000 worth of bikes to the drive. Several other posters on this website donated funds to more than cover the tailgate including Inimicus, GaziVicious, Smootsdaddy89, and Kevin Greene. We are starting the week with an overage of $35 which will go in the bucket.

Ranuccis Big Butt BBQ (www.ranuccis.com) just finished 9th place in the BBQ nationals in Memphis this past May. They will also be attending the 2011 competition and we thank them for their contributions over the years helping create a memorable tailgate experience for thousands of people by providing the best competition quality food that anywhere in Charlotte has to offer on gameday. Please contact them for any of your catering needs.

FAQ:

1. Who will be there/who can come? Come one come all. It has been this way ever since we started in 2004 and it makes the day interesting to say the least. Just come on down. The first tailgate started with about 8 people and since then thousands have tailgated with us, some every week. We were all newcomers at one point or another.

2. Where? The tailgate is in a parking lot across the street (same side) from Picasso's located at 230 S. Church St. It's a big parking lot that borders Church, 3rd, and Poplar downtown. In particular we are in the corner of 3rd and Poplar. There will be loud music and there will be a Carolina Huddle banner up on a tent along the sidewalk of 3rd St. We are right beside the lower entrance to this lot.

3. When? We will start tailgating at 8am, going until right before kickoff. No food will be served until around 10:00 am and if you get there past 12:30pm or so don't expect any food to be left.

4. What do I bring? We provide just about everything. Food, plates, side items, non alcoholic drinks like waters, a diet soda, and regular soda. We have tents in case it rains and a few chairs if you really need one. If you drink alcohol, you need to bring it because the Huddle does not in any way provide alcohol for tailgates. If you bring your alcohol, bring some way to cool it because iced cooler space is in short supply on hot summer days.

5. How much? We provide everything for you to have a good tailgate and leave full before going into the game. The food you eat at this tailgate is way better than the cold weenies and soggy fries you buy in the stadium. Take that into account when the donation bucket comes around. Consider you didn't have to bring any grill, cook, or go to the grocery store to tailgate. 100% of all the money donated goes to the end of season Toys for Tots drive at the stadium. Few other charities can claim 100% given goes to the cause. You will be eating competition quality food provided by the 9th place finisher in the BBQ nationals in Memphis back in May. Considering you'll not pull your wallet out to buy food during the game, the expected donation is around $10/person, less for kids of course.

Parking in the lot we're at costs $25/space. You do not have to park there to tailgate with us, few people do. You can easily find spots a few blocks back for a fraction of the cost (down to $5)of this lot and just walk up. Some people take the light rail in for a few bucks.

Disclaimer: There will probably be loud music. The Huddle does not take responsibility for what is seen and heard at a tailgate so consider this before bringing children. The Huddle does not police adult behavior at tailgates.

With all this said my kids are there every week and have a blast.

Not sure what I am making for this Sunday yet. Ideas are welcome.

Sitting in a tree stand right now and wondering if things go well I could donate a whole deer to one of the tail gates. Do you do deer? If so let me know how it needs to be processed or leave it quartered and we can work it out depending on the hunt the rest of the week. It probably won't be for the bears game but you or mush let me know. Just pm me. Glad to help out if needed.

Exciting and awesome at the same time that you guys have raised so much $$! I am hoping I can make it this weekend and possibly bring some interested potential huddlers along.

@Mush, I have a very cute pic of me and my girlfriends with your little girl (who is awesome by the way). I would be more than happy to send it to you if you'd like. Although, I am not supposed to tell you how many boyfriends she currently has :D

Yeah, I know. I have to go to Mass. Normally I go on Saturday's on home weekends, but I have to work all day Saturday.

      And, honestly, there's only so much you can attempt to do in the draft. And every draft pick is a roll of the dice. But that's where grabbing a ton of UDFAs, and targeting the best, makes a big difference. Sure, their individual chances of getting a hit here is less, but that shotgun pattern might just hit something.  Right now, we need bulk, partly to rebuild and partly to dilute the deep level of stank that has developed on this team in the last six years. If we're going to rebuild a culture built around culture, accountability and winning, then these UDFAs we bring in each season have to be the wash water that gets out that leftover dirt.  Canales seems to be a smart, culture-first, build up the good ones kind of guy. I like that and I hope he can keep it going here. But he was working against a locker room that had been taught to lose and taught to distrust or ignore coaches. He's got his work cut out for him, still. He does seem to have it moving in the right direction and that's something I was pretty amazed with by the end of last season.
