It's not that he want's a change in scenery...it's the fact that

A.When people speak of the quietest Panther who is it normally...Peppers

B. Who's the only one (that I can think of) so far that has publicly announced that they want out this season. (He's a FA If he wanted out...what benefit did THEY gain from putting out publicly)

He had every thing he could want here in Carolina, a team that just went 12-4, offered a contract to be highest paid defensive player in the NFL, the fans loved him here, once he goes to another team and the media and fans there won't put up with his inconsistent bullshit like we have here.

I have lost all respect for Peppers, he quit on us in 2007, and only played hard this season because it was a contract year.

Once hes gone he will realize how stupid of a decision he made.

i agree with you 100% i think some people on here are just taking it a lil to serious....its a business he is doing what he fills best for him

I'd agree he's doing what he thinks is best for him. I'm not dead certain it actually is what's best though.

The more I read of Peppers, the more I start thinking of Ricky Williams. That's not to suggest that Peppers is using drugs, mind you. More along the lines of Peppers being a "different" personality.

This is my first post, so first of all how are you guys doing. By now we all now that Julius Peppers wants out, but has anyone found a link where JULIUS PEPPERS has clearly said he wants out. I am not talkin about his agent saying he wants out, or Peppers told his agent he wants out. I am talking about JULIUS PEPPERS COMING OUT AND CLEARLY SAYING RELEASE ME. There has been many scenarios where an agent has said one thing, and a coach or close team mate has talked to the player and the player changes his mind. Now with that said, if we franchise him someone will bite (I don't care what anyone else says someone will bite) and give us a first round pick where we can pick up a good defensive end to replace him. Second option is releasing him and get nothing out of it. Third option is trade him away (OUT OF THE DIVISION)!!!! With that said I like the third option the best because I beleive Jordan Gross is more valuable then Peppers. Now this is my personal opionion, but if I had a choice it would be to franchise Gross, trade Peppers for a first rounder, and look at someone like Everette Brown out of Florida State who can line up play Defensive End and Linebacker. Also there is Brian Orakpo out of Texas who is a very good player. There is Michael Johnson out of Georgia Tech is a decent player. There is Aaron Maybin out of Penn State who can also play Defensive End and Linebacker. There is Paul Kruger out of Utah, who I really like. Finally Clint Sintim out of Virginia who is a good player. Now i now that a couple of these Defensive Ends/Backers don't fit into our system but the NFL is a whole different ball game then College Football. BRIEF STATS BELOW

Brian Orakpo(Texas)- 15.5 tackles for loss/ 10.5 sacks. SOLID PLAYER

Everette Brown(FSU)- 21.5 tackles for loss/ 13.5 sacks/ 4 forced fumbles. AMAZING

Michael Johnson(Georgia Tech)- 17.5 tackles for loss/ 9 sacks/ 7 passes defended. OK

Aaron Maybin(Penn St.)- 20 tackles for loss/ 12 sacks. PRETTY GOOD

Clint Sintim(UVA)- 12.5 tackles for loss/ 11 sacks/ played only 10 games. DECENT

Paul Kruger(Utah)- 61 tackles/ 16.5 tackles for loss/ 7.5 sacks/ 7 passes defended. OK

Pep is 5 years older than Allen.

I'm thinking a 1st and a 4th. Plus, don't forget we get 17 million in cap relief, less the 5 million or so cap figure that it will take to sign our 1st and 4th. So add a top notch free agent as well as what we get for Pep in trade. Sweet!

Uhh..not so much. Pep just turned 29, literally, and Allen turns 27 in two months. There's about two years difference, not five.

I do hope though, that we can raise enough space to sign Asomugha.

true, but peppers has 250% more talent than brayton. tyler is not a solid starting player. charles johnson shows much more talent than brayton but doesn't have the conditioning to stay on the field. i think our best shot is edwards getting fired by the chiefs and us hiring him as our d-coordinator.

So you would rather have a ton of underpeformering athletes instead of a team of guys who give it all every down? I hear there is room on the cowboys bandwagon.

Fans loved him? Really? If I was Pep I would have never noticed.

Asomugha would be a LIVESAVER for the Panthers. He could aslo teach our whole secondary there assignments and that the dude with dread locks (fitzgerald) is not on our team.

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
