Total career value of Moss

I was talking with a coworker about Moss and got to thinking about how many draft picks Moss has been worth his entire career. I don't think there's any other player that has 'consumed'(for lack of a better term) as many draft picks.

All this was from his wikipedia page so it might no be 100%

Was drafted in the 1st

Traded to Oakland for a 1st, multiple 7th's(???? wiki just says seventh-round picks) and a LB was was a 1st round pick

Traded to NE for a 4th

Traded to Minn for a 3rd

So that's 3 1st's, a 3rd, a 4th and (multiple?) 7th. Can any other player top that?

Yes, just not that the WR position.

If Rodgers or Rivers was to offered up on the trade block for those picks, I promise that deal would happen before breakfast.

Brady, Brees, and Manning 1 would get close, but are a bit long in the tooth to get that many 1's.

you're counting both purchases and sales as worth. That would be like me selling you a car for $20,000, then you selling it to saltman after a year for $16,000, then saltman selling it after a year to jangler for $12,000 and saying the car is worth $48,000.

You know what else changed hands a lot? Mortgage-backed securities.

Herschel Walker maybe? The Cowboys used a 5th to get him, plus the USFL team that got him used a draft pick. Then the Cowboys traded him and got seven picks at once plus 5 players, which they used to acquire other picks. That included 3 first round picks. Then other teams got Walker, but I am not sure if they gave up draft picks to do it.

    • I'd be very interested in seeing someone point me to a post saying any Panthers fans are unhappy with winning? We're happy the team is winning, but we're still unhappy with Bryce's play ON THE WHOLE. Yes, we recognize he's had a handful of good games, but even in them, he's still not making the type of plays/throws that high level QB's make, at least not on a consistent basis, one or two of those throws every few weeks does not make him a high level QB. Many of us are also able to look at what we see in front of us on the field and extrapolate that out to the future, and we don't see Bryce's play as a way for sustainable success.  If he was anyone else other than our own #1 overall draft pick, say if he was a mid rounder now in his 3rd season here or if he was a FA we picked up at some point, the same fans bowing down to him right now would be calling for him to be replaced and saying he was holding back the team.
    • I was going to add those types of throws as acceptable. I just didn't want to type all that out. In both cases it takes qb control to complete and are rare throws and completions. You may not see 1 an entire game. Most passes require adjustment due either to coverage or a rushed throw.
    • Not 2 seasons in on a guy who everyone knew needed time to round out. Maybe he will, maybe he won't, yet want everyone to have the patience of a saint for Bryce. You all are funny. Kibitzing, huh? Am i breaking up your circlefest or something?
