Armanti Edwards has sea legs for first Carolina Panthers game

I find it laughable that people on here honestly believe they are better talent evaluators than Marty Hurney.

He didn't get to be a GM of a professional football team by being retarded.

His WR talent evaluation hasn't exactly been stellar.

I about flipped a poo when I saw we gave up a 2nd rounder for AE. I hope I'm wrong for the sake of this team but I haven't seen anything to make me believe otherwise.

They were talking about it on NFLN during the draft right before carolina moved up to get him and after the pick. That NE was in talks with a few teams to move up for him as well as the team picking behind them....

There's alot of misinformation put out by teams during the draft and NE is probably the best at this. That's how they con teams into giving them draft picks to trade up just one spot.

Nobody said he is a bad talent evaluator overall.

He made a terrible choice on Edwards.

Overall the FO has done a great job of getting value in the draft

This pick came from above Hurney. It was a business move by Morrison to put a local hero on the team after cutting Hoover and Peppers. I just went to the mall this afternoon. One sports store had 2 jerseys in the front window...a Bears 90 and a Panthers 10.

I don't know if this can be entirely attributed to Marty Hurney. I think some of the blame has to fall on the coaches, and the offensive scheme.

We haven't maximized the talent we've had but at the same time Hurneys draft picks at WR have been pretty god awful. We could use an improvement in scheme and development sure, but it won't really matter if we fill our roster with a bunch of Dwayne Jarretts.

You could also say some scouts and personnel have had their hand in picking the wrong guys also. There's alot of blame to go around but ultimately Hurney makes the final decision on who to bring in so most of the blame has to fall with him.

This makes perfect sense. No wonder they sat him for four games. Come buy tickets to see your home town hero....not wear a Jersey...err wait. WTF?

You know this how? Morrison doesn't take any part in drafting or scouting. His job literally has nothing to do with personnel moves. Jesus, people just pull crap out of their ass and post it as fact.

    • Not in same league. Caldwell just hit a 10.00 on the RAS. 2nd out of 3830 from 1987 onward.  https://x.com/MathBomb/status/2027885023387349047 Yeah I mean Louis had a sub 9.00 RAS. Still very very good, no doubt. Louis is small, no 2 ways about it. He is likely a sub package lb in nickel packages or specialized WLB. Be fine ST gunner to start for sure. 6 foot flat and 220lb is pushing it for a starting LB. At 10 to 20lbs less than the other LBs he'd better be closer to the top in most timed drills. He's gonna be challenged when some of the wrs in the class can matchup bigger stronger faster, much less TE in the run game.  Yeah instinct matter and he has them, but that size is a massive red flag compared to many of the other LBS in this class.    Rodriguez is the LB that really climbed this week from a pure grit guy to great flash with athleticism people wrote off cause he was a QB at first at UVA. 18.4mph in the backpedal. Production the last 2 years were great. I'd be thrilled with him as the future mike.   Hill likely moved out of 51 and into the top 45 picks ( Ravens at 45 I can't imagine don't bite if he makes it there). Honestly Hill imo is a 1st rounder and I'd be ok with him as he fits the MLB we have missed the last few years. People would crow it's a reach but he's top 30 all-time I'm RAS for a LB at 9.9+ . Plus he was big time in big games when he was healthy. And that br a big check: meds.
    • Miller, Melo, Coby, Moose, and Bridges all on the floor at the same time must be a nightmare for defenses lol. Switch one out for Kon and still a nightmare. Coby really does bring a true 6th man value and looks like he could start if Melo was out after only a few games of getting his feet wet.
    • Well I guess he should stop playing football. This was his defining moment and chance to prove he was generational and he failed. What a waste of football life..
