if you live in an area that is desirable to live in or visit, you're gonna have to deal with something like this. even high point has to deal with furniture market twice a year. wilmington deals with tourists all summer. if you dislike attractions pumping money into your local economy you should probably move out to BFE.

Funny most of you complain about the traffic. The speedway was there before you.

can't imagine many real estate agents being like, "hey, this is a GORGEOUS house, but you're going to be fuging miserable during race weekends." plus, we wouldn't have had the first fuging clue what 'race weekends' meant when we moved down... we're too smart and too rich :ciappa:

Yeah that Speedway Blvd sure did give it away. People figured not a bad price and Concord Mills is just down the road. 2 races a year wont be bad.

I dont like it because I dont consider it a real sport. How do you score points drivin in a circle?? What make the drivers athletes? They can hold their pee for 4 hours? Their left arms get real athletic??

Dont get me wrong, I can appreciate it for what it is -One helluva good time. Went to Richmond a few years back, saw T.Stewart's 1st win, and had a BLAST!

Hemmingway said, “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely games.”

Obviously not that smart if you don't know what is meant by Speedway. ;)

    • I don’t go back and look at the espn but there live it definitely said 1 shot 1 goal when it happened. I guess they had not added them yet. Still allowing goals that early is rough. Blue line is a total disaster still. Even with Slavin back. Miller and Nikishin keep making mistakes after mistakes.
    • I generally disagree with the concept of picking a position because of value early in the draft. For instance, if there's a really good safety, RB or ILB at pick 10, I'm choosing him over a project WR or DE. Better players make the team better. A bunch of ok players will give you an ok team. The number 1 goal of the draft should be to improve the overall talent on the team. Not to fill positions of need.  Deciding beforehand that you're picking a LT in the first or second round because Ickey went down is not the way to improve the team. Now if Dan has similar grades on 2 or 3 players and one happens to be a LT, then yeah go for it. But don't pass on your guy at ILB because you have a gap at LT or need to improve the pass rush with a DE. When those guys don't pan out then you haven't improved your team. But that LB could have been a franchise cornerstone for years to come. See Luke Kuechly and Christian McCaffrey.
