I Think we got the lemon QB in the draft

2 games and Matt's a has-been, 3 games and Jimmy's a never-was.

I think next year after the draft we should just waive them after the first day of training camp. That's right.....just let go any draft player that doesn't step up on their first day of camp.

I mean....why waste time?

The fact that you have written off a rookie QB after only 3 games shows that you are a complete fuging moron.

Will Clausen be a top QB? Who knows.

But, to write him off after only 3 games in the NFL is retarded.

Yup, using excuses instead of admitting hate for someone or something will only lead to death.

No more retarded than writing off Moore b/c of a bad game....and 3 quarters of play. You know, considering his had a history of playing well in actual NFL games. Moore is a young QB as well.....not the vet people try to spin him as.

Also remember that besides Jake Delhomme no QB since John Fox has been coach has had a good game. Could make a case for Vinny but not really...

Says alot about the coaches ability to develop a passing attack, which has always been the Panthers weakest attribute.

Matt Moore has 2 great games last year back to back. 2 of them his passer rating was over 120.

Minnesota- 21 of 33 for 299 yards, 3 TDs-0 Ints- passer rating 123

NY Giants- 15 of 20 for 171 yards, 3 TDs- 0Ints- passer rating 139

You don't end up a five game stint with a passer rating of 98 as a fluke. In fact starting off this poorly this year would be considered more of a fluke by comparison except for the fact that Clause's struggles have illuminated that it isn't just Moore struggling.

I am not writing off either one of them.

Moore played very poorly in the preseason and the first two games. I had no issue with going to Jimmy to see if he could make a difference this season.

Given how he has played, I don't think Moore or Clausen right now gives us much chance to win.

We have a lot of weaknesses on this team that cannot be overcome with young and inexperienced QB's.

It was imerative that our defense play solid (which they have) and the running game to carry this team (which they have not). With the lack of an OLine and running game, it is squarely on the shoulders of the QB to win us games. Neither Clausen nor Moore are that type of QB right now.

I can make a case why either Moore or Clausen should be the starter....and, I could make a damn good case why both shoudl be on the bench.

The coaching staff needs to figure out how to fix the OLine and Running game issues.

 Moore has been around longer to play better than he does.

Expectations were way too high this year given the changes. In retropsective I think people are just now seeing how bad we are. it is hard to lay that at one position right now. What part of our game is going well. Even the defense is sporatic playing well for some quarters while giving up huge plays in others.

I still stand by my original thoughts coming into the season.

If we could have been able to run the ball like we have the past two seasons, we would be OK.

I NEVER expected the QB play to be stellar. But, I also did not expect the QB to have to carry this team. The OLine and Running Game has been the disappointment to me.

Defense has actually over achieved. The QB play has been weaker than I thought...but only because we cannot lean on the running game.

Put the blame squarely where it belongs....the coaching staff and the Big Uglies.

    • I get it's subjective and I said "PFF rated him as" one of the top deep ball passers during that time, which is an accurate statement.  They are still a group of professionals that look at film and data in order to make their judgements/ratings.  These people whose data has been incorporated into a lot of teams' staffs view Bryce's deep throws as some of the best in the league during that stretch.  That tells me that he can probably throw a deep pass vs the Huddle's version of he is small and didn't do it his rookie year so he must not be able to.  That and literally seeing him do it just makes me feel he is more than capable of doing so.   Do you think PFF is skewing their opinion to prop up a QB in a bottom tier franchise?  It's just another group's opinion and I feel is pretty respected around the league currently.  It's not the gospel truth or anything.
    • I still remember how happy I was that gettlegut was not the GM once he picked Jones, that was a firing pick and well..... If not for the raiders drafting Clelin Ferrell, it was the biggest draft day mistake in the last 20 some years.
    • He had 251 passing yards. 3 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns. All in all a very impressive game. Problem is I do not envision his rushing ability translating like that over the course of the upcoming season. Yeah it will be something to account for from time to time but one it's not sustainable and two you don't want to put his durability to the ultimate test against a motivated defender willing to take a penalty and a fine. And plus with our backfield. Two 1k yard rushers. That's what they're here for. Then we have a much improved WR room. That means Bryce has to elevate those passing numbers substantially. The fact of the matter is regardless of circumstances it did take him 23 games to surpass Kyle Allen's single season passing yardage from 13 games in 2020. And that is not a high bar by any means. Whatever QB tier Bryce ends up in from here amongst his peers this upcoming season when it's all said and done it will be with his arm.
