Kolb is another reason Moore should start

Kolb showed promise and was given the Philly job heading into the season. He like Moore looked like crap to start the season.....play that contradicted what was seen prior.

Kolb is back now, looking like he was prior to the start of this season.

Benching Moore was a mistake. Moore has proven he can play.....you don't bail on a young QB like Moore b/c of a couple bad quarters.

And even so they'll be putting Vick back in there when he's healthy

We don't know that. Reid has flip flopped about 3 times on that call this season.

Did you watch Kolb yesterday? Vick is more exciting b/c he runs. Best QB play in Philly so far this year was yesterday imo.

Fwiw, Moore looked pretty rough in his first two starts last year as well. He was lucky in both the New England and Tampa games that he didn't have more passes picked off. It wasn't until the Viking game that he started to look comfortable in the pocket.

I am not sure who should start, but at least Moore does show a better arm and a quicker release. His only problem this year has been decision making. If his decision making improves, he could be a better passer.

The Forgotten Fact on Moore:

Teh only games that he looked good last season was the Vikings and the Giants.

We got the Vikings during a stretch where they were playing very poorly.

The Giants had COMPLETELY imploded by the time we played them.

Not taking anything away from his performances, but they were against two struggling teams.

if they put Moore back in, they need to keep him in. same goes for Clausen. at this point I just want to see a win.

I really don't have a side, I just want consistency. you can't keep changing starters because it messes with the chemistry of the team. I will say either way it's going to be difficult for any quarterback to be successful in the current situation.

wait Im confused.....When did a guy that was undrafted, and cut by the Cowboys who has nobody at QB ever have promise?

Kolb was drafted with the intent to take over the team after McNabb......Same as Clausen was drafted for us, Moore was picked up for a backup role the whole time

bs.

we were able to compete in every game Moore started last season.

Vikings - prior to Carolina they won 6 of last 7. One loss by a fg. They were just coming of a 20 pt beatdown they gave to Cincy.

Giants had just beaten a division opponent by 33 points the week before.

there is no way around the spin. Carolina screwed up benching Moore. They didn't give him a legit shot this season. Maybe he would have been horrible.....but you don't find out what kind of QB he is going to be by benching him during week 2.

And tampa was struggling as well, but he looked bad against them.

My point was that he got comfortable after a couple of bad games and started playing well. Don't know if the same thing would have happened this year, and of course having veteran receivers like Moose and Steve helped a lot. But it may be time to try. At least Moore will throw the ball down the field a bit. Right now, Clausen just nibbles at the sidelines.

    • Yes. It's fluff time anyways but it's getting a bit ridiculous. I don't believe this mix has ever worked for the Panthers before. Break .500 and then start the hype.
    • While I have a chance to be overly excited I'll take that opportunity. The team will determine what happens with that. It's been a while since we've had much to be excited about, I'd say let's just embrace it and see how it unfolds.
    • Knowns: top 10 o line 2 proven, quality RBs 2 proven, WRs who get open and catch everything. 2 others who show a lot of ‘potential’ A QB who improved greatly in the last few games of the season, topped off by putting up a 40 burger win in OT in this franchise’s kryptonite house. What will transpire this season is yet to be seen.  defense has far less proven. 2  very good CBs, a stud DT (coming off a major injury) and the rest is, again, ‘potential.’ A DC that is essentially starting the season on the hot seat.  This is not 2003, but it could be good. 2003 was the most stacked roster from top to bottom that this team has ever had. This squad finished on a big upswing, yes, but we’ll see.  I think it all comes down to how spiked your hopium is. The running game is where it is for the team. This is not a defense that will win 3 points games. Just not. To win, this team will have to dominate TOP and come up with 2+ more 3rd down stops each game. Again, do-able and should be good for at least a 7 point differential in our favor, ‘hopefully.’  I will say that it is nice seeing talent that actually belongs in the NFL on our roster.
