I'm currently playing. I played pretty hardcore in vanilla. I did the Warlord grind on my druid actually, I was the only one on my server as a druid to get it. First on server with full cenarion, first to get full stormrage too. I was in college so I had a lot of time. Once I got a real job and the girlfriend (wife now) gave an ultimatum I dropped WoW. When BC came out I got it, but didn't feel like leveling up and didn't have the time, so I didn't play in BC really.

I came back to WoW in January, leveled a new druid up, and then took a couple months break. Been playing for like 5-6 months now and doing ICC here and there. My group only raids like 2 nights a week, and sometimes one.

WoW is really casual now. If you are worried you can't do anything without 40 hours, you are wrong. Many people have handful of alts that are geared pretty well. They toned it down. I think Cata may make it a bit less-casual, but probably in the middle of vanillia/BC and Lich King.

It's still a cheap form of entertainment honestly. I wouldn't play that much if I haven't played with these guys since the beginning.

The new class changes in Cata (which are now on live servers) are pretty fun. My lvl 76 Lock is doing stupid dps in destruction and it's really fun. Main is a resto/moonkin druid. Also have a lvl 80 feral druid, 71 shaman and the 76 warlock.

I wouldn't say they ignored it, so much as they tried to separate it from the main game.

I'd say one CTF map over the course of 5 years is pretty well ignoring a major component of the game. Etc for the other pvp modes.

And you're right, they did mess up by trying to separate the two instead of fusing them together.

Everything is so sanitized and watered down now, you might as well go play Habbo Hotel.

There's kind of 2 CTF maps actually. The new expansion has like 3-4 new pvp maps I think, more than they usually do.

They messed up on PVP also when they focused on arena so much. A small number of people like arenas compared to the huge number that like BGs.

I feel so nerdy for knowing what you're talking about, I had a tricked out shadow priest with purple sets for both healing and shadow. also had a purple warrior although I only had a tank set for him, played through most of burning crusade.

I too have been telling myself not to reacticate my account (demon soul server)

Damn it is a fun game though.

Getting ganked as a warrior in tarren mill made me swear revenge on rogues. Damn that's nerdy

That's still just sad. And yeah, I didn't care much for arena, but then again shamans were pretty gimped for pvp when arena came out, so I didn't really have a chance.
