has a QB ever had such bad 3 games like jimmy clausen and become a pro bowler?

I want whichever QB is in the game to do well. I really don't care if it's Moore or Clausen. I suppose it would be less messy for the organization if Clausen had clearly outplayed Moore so that they could go ahead and start grooming Clausen to be the QB of the future but Clausen looked so godawful and lost out there that he won't see the field again this season as long as Moore is healthy.

That will open up a can of worms in the offseason, especially with a coaching change, since our best QB will no longer be under contract and his backup has either looked bad or hasn't played at all.

driving down to the new orleans 35 yard line after converting on 4th down = no potential. We saw yesterday kasey could have hit it had deangelo not gone backwards.

Yeah if you review all his game tape he has a couple of nice passes. Even strung 2-3 together.

But a blinfolded monkey will hit a bullseye once in a while if you teach it to throw darts

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
