Clausen, or a FA qb, will start for us next year. Moore will be gone but will finish out the year. And it'll take 3-5 rough games next season before Clausen even gets things under his belt (if at all) since he'll basically be starting from scratch. Hopefully we can pick up a decent FA to mentor him the right way unlike this year. Or hell, grab Andrew Luck if we have a worse record than the 49ers, and go back to square one with two young QBs like we did this year. Such a mess.

Moore has to get us to 8-8 ot 9-7 to get signed here and be the guy.

If we don't get to 8-8 this year, which we probably will not, the blame cannot land solely one one person, and certainly not Moore..

No he didn't. He earned a start next week. Take it week to week. If he throws 4 picks do you still say he deserves more starts? Take it week to week.

Any NFL team that behaves like that, week to week when it comes to QBs, is cooking a reciepe for disaster. That's why we are 0-5. And besides, if Matt gets benched again, your boy should remain seated anyway and let Pike have his shot.

We saw Clausen already this year. He's no Sam Bradford, Flaco or Matt Ryan. He's not a NFL-ready rookie. And I highly doubt he will be ready in just 2 more games. He needs a full year of practice. In hindsight, going pro as a junior in college may have been a bad idea.

You think Pike's more qualified than Clausen?

Really??

I don't get the argument of just because Clausen is here then that means we gotta play him.. I see a small, young Matt Leinart when he's out there. How would have other decent college qb's have faired if they were in a "pro-style" offense like clausen and fatty were running in Notre Dame? I would assume there would be a lot of qb's be successful in that offense. There's a reason he slipped in the draft.

The main argument for why he probably will get some playing time at some point while he is here (whether this season or another depends a lot on how we are playing at the time :P) is that a high draft pick was used on the guy and the front office is very high on him as a potential franchise QB. They aren't certain he has or doesn't have that, but yeah. So.

That doesn't matter. The point will be to change this team into a contender in the off-season. If he can't lead us to 8-8, he will be seen as "not what we need to get us there". The new coach will want his own guy more than likely. Moore has to fight for his future here. There has to be a reason to sign him again. It's time for this team to stop being mediocre year after year. If he wants to lead that charge, he has 10 games left to prove he's the right man for the job.

It might depend a bit. For instance, if the team ends up 7-9, Moore at least went 7-6. It also depends on his stats. For instance, what if he plays red hot through the rest of our year but our D can't stop anyone? Then, I think that tempers the decision a bit.

On the other hand, if he does play red hot, I see no reason we can't win... still, kinda depressing to think how excited I was about how Moore & Gettis played, and we still only won by 3.

We really need to get our running game on track now.

If he plays lights out...we will win. Every time. Our D is that good. Like I said, it's up to him if he's a Panther next year. There will be no shrugs anymore, and no more of the same old same old CRAP managerial garbage we've seen from the FO the past few years. I predict a massive change to a lot of things this summer...unless we go 8-8 pr better. If we do that, we stay the same. Again.

Fox will most likely be gone, I say most likely because I really think there is a chance JR will give him a new contract. Especially if Fox gets the team to 8-8 or better...but I digest...:) Why would Fox help out Clausen and the next coach by giving Clausen any playing time? Nope, Moore will start the rest of the season good or bad. Only one way Clausen comes back in, and that's if Moore gets hurt.
