New Orleans radio guy says Saints hiding Brees injury

CAn't imagine he could play with a fracture but many athletes continue to play with a torn meniscus. It is not recommended as further damage can be done some of which may not be repairable ( have to remove the meniscus). On the other hand many tears are not reapirable anyway and they simply remove the torn part. He could easily wait until after the season and the only consequence would be pain playing. It also might not be something they would report given there is no treatment for it other than surgery after the season.

a guy with credibility equal to that of PFT might have the scoop on something that everyone else riding on the saints/new orleans/brees jock is covering up or ignoring might be the case. at the moment, the only explanations why this guy would be reporting this and not anyone else ventures into tinfoil hat territory.

saints went to some lengths yesterday bunking this report.

Valid, but in fairness nobody believed Jose Canseco either.

Generally painful when it happens, but sometimes the big jerk that no one takes seriously turns out to be right.

(and yes, I know I just served that one up; insert comment here)

sometimes (rarely) the guys wearing the tin foil hats are right. this might be one of those times. who knows? it wouldn't be the first time a team lied about the health of their beloved QB.

If it weren't for the Vicodin thing, I might be willing to just dismiss this, but that fact makes it harder to do.

People that do shady things don't generally become "unshady" just because they got caught once.

true.

one reason why they might not want this info to come out is that if defenses smelled blood in the water that brees would have an even bigger mark on his chest (or leg). teams pissed at gregg williams for being such a douche and classless coach might try to use his strategies for winning. it's only because no other teams are willing to sink to his levels (yet) that brees is even still walking. it's only a matter of time before someone takes a "late" hit on brees and payton/williams have only themselves to blame if it does. if the saints actually make it to the playoffs this year, that will likely be the time that it happens.

That might happen anyway now that radio guy has come out with this.

Haha don't want to pee all over anyone's wishful-thinking-revenge-fantasy RE: Brees' leg, but you can just go ahead and throw anything that KW says right out of the window. We're not talking "alleged" vicoden abuse like someone with an axe to grind is trying to blackmail us over, but confirmed from multiple sources and on multiple occasions abuse with regards to the dope breaking the scoop. KW is a pillhead who's still bitter about being banned from the team for pulling this same sort of poo in the past.

As much as some of you must really want this to be true, you certainly don't want your source to be Kenny Wilkerson.

    • Regardless of how we got here, any rational fan should be excited by how well Bryce played down the stretch. Anyone not happy about that level of play either doesn't know what they're looking at, or they're still trying to drive tired narratives. Obviously, Cam had an all-time rookie season, and I'm not putting the two in the same basket yet, but as someone who has watched every snap of Panthers football since the start of the new millennium (Im old), Bryce was playing at a higher level at the end of 2024 than Cam was at the end of 2012 (his 2nd season). Cam continued to develop into MVP form, something Bryce has to prove, but as someone who watched both (and will stan for Cam always), Bryce was playing at a higher level to end year 2 than Cam did.  Go watch the film if you dont believe me. None of that means anything for the future. But the people who said BY9 couldnt play in this league are wrong.   That being said, the only thing that matters is this year. #20 is perfectly fair IMO going into the season. I mean think about it, how would you rank him??!  His in-season turnaround is one of the wildest things I've ever seen... how do you rank a guy who looked like a massive bust in September and by January was consistently playing at a top 10 level? My excitement level is pretty damn high heading into this season. There were throws from the Chiefs game onward where Bryce had Drew Brees levels of anticipation. Im excited to see what he can do with a full deck on offense, something we really never gave Cam. Really hope and expect Bryce to move up this list this season.
    • Not really, the only QB's (other than Anthony Richardson) ranked below him are new to their teams as a placeholder starter or drafted in 2024 or 2025, not a lot of gymnastics to get there. It's not about how many that is, if it's 20, 12, or 2... It means there isn't a QB who's team has committed to them for the long term right now that they have ranked below Bryce. That's not a great thing.
    • The changes to onside kicks were ridiculous and ruined a significant part of the game     It was already a high risk low reward play.  Why change it?
