Wondering about Clausen...

The only people I can think that actually say that App has a bad name are the handful of losers that sit around touching themselves on this website..

Oh no, I hurt Harpua08's feelings because I don't wear mountaineer kneepads. Hey how's Dexter Jackson working out? Is he still the next Devin Hester?

As far as Clausen's tenure in college, it was the opposite of what is happening now. Weis got fired because his teams had no defense. The offense always put up enough points to win. Again, Clausen was the guy who went head to head with both Jake Locker and Andrew Luck in 2009 and clearly was the better QB on both occasions.

Clausen only played against 4 defensive backs who were drafted in his whole career, 3 of those in the 7th round. Let's hope he looked better than guys that play in a top 3 conference.

Bottom line: The guy has been a hype machine since high school and has gotten more disappointing at each level.

Clausen sucked as a freshman too for the most part, didn't he? Pretty sure he was part of that fail.

Either way, his college doesn't matter, what matters is what he's done so far... which isn't much. Still, he'll get some more time, and I don't think Pike looked any better...

His junior year wasn't that good either.

People would like to ignore college but honestly that's what Clausen fans fall back on when saying he should start. If we looked objectively at his games here, he doesn't even deserve a practice squad spot. The only reason he is still here is because of his college days and his hype. Don't get it twisted.

He better step it up the rest of the year if he gets a chance or he will be looking for a new team next year, especially if Pike shows anything. Getting pulled multiple times for multiple QBs when you are supposed to be the future isn't good.

If Pike shows anything he will be back, Moore might be back, more so now with the injury, and we probably bring in a Vet/Rookie depending on the coach.

If I'm wrong I'm wrong. But Moore will not be a Panther in 2011.

You're guess is just as good on mine as this one. This is one time I'm not sure. My guess is he will be back, but it's really up in the air and he could be gone.

I think whether it's fair or not a new coach will want to give his FA or top pick a crack at the job, along with the incumbent top pick. Moore will go elsewhere.

    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
