Trgovac is gone! I dont think it that great!

Basically we have lost all of our defensive coaches. We were on the cusp of being great, a few tweaks in my opinion on defense, and a better performance out of our Qb and who knows how great we would have been this past season. Now what? We start from scratch basically! So if Trgovac had stayed a few more years, would it have really been that bad? We are a defense first team, so I am lead to believe, so in my opinion next season would be a rebuilding year and we will probabally lose alot of games thanks to al this. IMO.

They turned the offense around in one season. I think they can do that with defense.

Anybody remember the difference between 2001 and 2002? In 2001, we finished 1-15 with a pretty bad defense. In 2002, we finished 7-9, but with one of the league's best defenses, especially against the run.

We need change. As you said, we're a defense first team. We haven't looked like it in over two years.

We don't have 2 first round picks to use on our defense and we don't have any key defensive players coming back from tommy john surgery.

I think our defensive woes can be more attributed to coaching than talent. Of course Peppers leaving will be a huge blow, but I think we'll get adequate compensation with him and turn our attention to getting some big, physical guys on the defensive line, just as we did the offensive line last year.

I think with the right coaching, we could be a good defense again simply by addressing the defensive tackle and end positions. With a decent pass rush, I think our secondary could be okay. I'm equally confident in our linebackers.

It may have been the best thing to happen to the forums, but not necessarily the team. It's only a good thing if the next guy is better, and there's no guarantee of that.

I disagree, going from top 5 defense to almost last in the NFL in one season is pretty freaking bad.

Answer this question...what has Trgo done since his tenure here?

There are good people out there. Question is will it happen? It's going to be interesting to see if we can:

A.) Pull in a top guy

and

B.) Will it matter under Fox

Those are the questions for the day...

    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
