Who are the best teams in the NFL this year?

This season is SO weird. Week to Week there is a new best team. In no particular order:

*Patriots- Its hard to bet against the Patriots, because they've done it before. One week they lose to the Browns (who are better, but still...) and then the next week the kick the crap out of the Steelers. oh yea, and that guy Tom Brady...hes back.

*Jets- They've yet to really impress me to be honest. But they play hard D every week, Sanchez looks alot better than last year, which is making me feel better about Brian Schottenheimer as an HC. The Jets and Pats will see each other in the playoffs I think

*Steelers- I'm going out on the limb...the Steelers will win their division, but I think they will be a quick out. Lots of injuries, and Big Ben is a bit shaky. Still top 5 team in the NFL right now though

*Ravens- they are at the top right now, but that secondary is GARBAGE. They did get one BS call, and a no call that results in 14 Falcon points, but that secondary will be the reason they missed the playoffs, and until I see that improve, they might not make it to the dance.

*Chargers- Every week they start like poo, then come back. Thanks to Kansas City being this year's Denver Broncos, they are right back in it. top Offense and Defense, but the special teams are holding them back. Rivers is playing like an MVP with no names on offense.

*Colts- the Colts are still the Colts. But Jacksonville might just sneak up on them, I think the Titans are very vulnerable at the QB position because of injuries, Randy Moss looks like Joe Schmo.

*Green Bay- They look like the best in the NFC right now (jinx). Clay Matthews is the Defensive player of the first half (probably the season, but lets see the rest of the season). Who needs a running game? With Aaron Rodgers at QB they can and will go far, and this Defense is playing spectacular.

*Eagles- I think the Eagles are the best team no one is talking about. We talk about Vick, but we don't talk about the Eagles. Andy Reid has gift with QBs. The Defense is alot better than last year, and they might just sneak right past the Falcons and Giants as the season progresses. They face the Redskins tonight and Giants Sunday Night, so they can make a big statement with 2 straight division wins.

*Giants- ugh. A horrible loss at home to the Cowgirls, but you always throw out the record with the NFC East division games. They are still one of the best teams in the NFL, but losses like that make you scratch your head.

*Falcons- they look really good. Matt Ryan and Mike Smith are 18-1 at home. If they get homefield, they will be tough to beat, but I'm not convinced that they are invincible yet. They still have some road games to play and win before I can crown them.

*Saints- the Saints are the Saints (sound familiar). The Defense can still be beaten though. I don't trust them. You can run the ball on the Saints and keep the ball out of Brees' hands, but when it's in his hands, you're most likely fugged.

I think these teams are the best right now. Its a shame one of the NFC West teams have to be in...(just kidding) but they will. I didn't list the Bears because I still don't trust them. Beat Green Bay again and you've got me. (bite me Dimbee)

Definitely on the parity train. But as much as I hate to admit this, two teams still stand out to me, as they do every year for a while now: The Patriots & Colts.

What they both have: Consistency and good adjustments to mid-season changes (Particularly Indy). Green-Ellis is becoming the new Faulk for the Patriots, the WR core hasn't even hit their stride yet, and the long haired gay dude that QBs is playing extremely well.

And on the Colts side: this may end up being Peyton's best year aside from his 49 TD year a few years back. Also, their defense this year has gotten really really good, scoring TDs and making play after play. They may not survive all the injuries though.

I'm still seeing the Pats in the Super Bowl this year v. god knows who in the NFC.

Until the chargers get a run game going they are not one of the best teams in the league. But with that awful division u never know.

We're smack dab in the middle of the league, ahead of NE, GB, IND, CHI, and NO, and only 30-40 yds behind PIT. The only thing we need to patch up is blocking on punts.

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
