THE TIME TO WIN IT ALL WAS NOW! Window of opportunity is closing....

This year was the time to make a push and win it all.... I firmly believe that our window of opportunity is slowly closing and will need an offensive overhaul within the next two seasons

-Jake Delhomme- 34 years old, has at best two seasons left in him as a starter and that is stretching it

-Steve Smith- 30 years old, dangerous WR predicated on speed, has 2-3 top tier seasons left in him before his skills will diminish

-Muhsin Muhammad- 35 years old, a possession WR who has 2 seasons tops in him

depending on these guys though isn't going to get it done

we need to start looking for the heir apparent for moose and jake

I don't think the windown is closing really though, we have a ton of guys who are just getting into thier prime or guys who are in their prime

here are the cornerstone's of this team:

-Beason

-Davis

-Gamble

-Gross

-Stewart

-Williams

We have pieces but we will be losing skill set players within the next couple of years.

Kurt Warner is a hall of famer.... Jake is no where near the level of Warner

Yeah, too bad that's not what we're talking about. Kurt was said to be done and washed up 2 years ago, and he had some bad seasons, and then he started dominating again. You just never know. But I know you can't make positive threads so I'll let it go.

I don't know why some people still don't understand the magnitude of this loss, even after all the poo that has already happened to our staff.

This year we had the pieces in place to win a Super Bowl, that doesn't happen very often obviously, and it was totally botched.

You don't get the #2 seed and not be a serious Super Bowl contender. That said, you don't get trounced like we did without some poo go down.

A little bit of dirty laundry has been aired out, and I expect more.

This was the biggest loss in our history, blown out in a home playoff game as the 2 seed, not even losing the Super Bowl stung as bad.

I don't think "windows" exist in the NFL anymore. Look at Atlanta, Arizona, Baltimore this year - look at NY last year - look at the Panthers '01 to '03. Now I'm not going to bet on Detroit or Oakland making a run to the playoffs next year, but I wouldn't be completely surprised if they did. Every year every team has a chance. I wonder what the preseason odds of a Arizona/Pitt superbowl were.

    • I really have no clue what to expect sunday.  To quote one of my favorite bands of all time, Operation Ivy "All I know is that I dont know".  We could win, hell we could win convincingly, we also could lose in blowout fashion.  We could be in a back and forth game with whoever has the ball last winning.  I legit HAVE NO CLUE.  This isnt the dominant bills teams of the past, Allen is still elite and can win any game by himself.  That said, heres my stab at looking at things. Our defense is made to stop this kind of team.  Strong against the run, a great corner but meh talent around the field.  We've stopped prolific run offenses this season.   Javonte Williams - Season low yards and ypa against us. De'Von Achane - Season low yards and ypa against us Breece hall - 3rd worst yards in a game Fact of the matter is, we arent what we were last year, we are a good run defense and that lines up well against the bills, Stop the run.  For once the lack of moving Jaycee might be a good thing, he will essentially lock down a side and without multiple real weapons thats fine.  Buffalo does not have an elite guy, theyve got a gaggle of average dudes.  Allen will stay away from Jaycee, it will be on Mike Jack and Chau Smith Wade do to their part and they will be matched with guys they can play at the level of. On offense, we do what the bills are bad at.  We run the ball well, and they suck at stopping the run.  Rico and Chuba will need 30 carries.  Andy Dalton will need to be opportunistic.  My big fear is what we learned last year, Dalton can get overconfident and make bonehead throws.  Its this simple.  Run the ball, stop the run.  Dont turn the ball over.  If we do these 3 things, we will be in a position to win in the 4th quarter.
    • This makes me wish we took a flyer on Quinn Ewers late in the draft
    • He has been a good player and clean player over the years. I don’t follow that close but think he was closing in on setting his resume for his place in the all time rankings. I am sympathetic to him becaus this will hurt him there.
