I wouldn't be surprised...

...if Brian St. Pierre starts for the rest of the year.

"Why?" you ask.

Because he's the ideal John Fox quarterback.

He tends toward safe, high-percentage passes and isn't flashy or risky. Unfortunately, this type of quarterback often doesn't move the offense very well.

Plus, he isn't a rookie (even if he can only be loosely defined as a veteran).

Fox may surprise me and start Clausen or Pike, but much as I hate to say it, I would not be shocked at all if it's St. Pierre till the end of the season.

If Fox isn't fired tomorrow, he would be if he didn't name Jimmy Clausen the starter the rest of the season.

For those of you hoping for Tony Pike, Fox put the nail in the coffin this week. If he can't beat out Jimmy Clausen when he's hurt.... he never will this season.

Clausen if nothing else needs to get a good hard look to make sure the Panthers don't otherwise waste next year's pick on a quarterback.

I think Clausen is someone they can build a franchise around but understand how many of you think gambling on a new drafted qb will somehow fix all of the problems on offense. I would love to see them bring in a veteran QB to either compete for the starting spot with Clausen or mentor him like Brunell does Sanchez in NY and Jake does McCoy in Cleveland and Feeley does Bradford in.... well you get the picture.

Fox hopefully is done...if clausen doesn't start from here on out, hurney should go too. Clausen has talent, it just needs to be developed by proper coaching.

this isn't similar at all. who the *** is st pierre? what has he done for this team?

i'm mad at the team, not you....lol.

He's a veteran (not really, but compared to Clausen and Pike, yeah) and he's geared mainly toward safe passes and a "game manager" attitude.

Does that make him the best man for the job? Not really. But it might be enough to swing Fox.

Nobody foresaw him starting this week either.

Edit: the point is now moot, and I'm happy to be wrong on this one.

    • If you're going to try and hold me saying he looks like crap in during his rookie year against me vs me trying to stay positive in the present and say that the hourly posting shitting on him is annoying and confusing because who the hell spends that much time on something they don't enjoy, I can't really help you. you're exaggerating and holding onto the past like a female. you just said in another thread that his excellent games vs the Rams has you feeling guilty for feeling any positivity. that is some true loser stuff right there, definitely not someone that is a fan of something. keep trying.
    • generally speaking, going by the original NFL international marketing rights announcement... we would expect to host a Germany home game once every four years.  Doesn't mean we would play internationally only then, just the guarantee home game situation things might have changed since then, if they figure out how to play at more stadiums during a season to expand the number of "home" teams available
    • Munich won't happen. It's a Lions home game in Munich, but we play the Lions at home at BOA Most likely to happen would be Madrid vs the Falcons (although KC has been pushing hard for this one). From a schedule perspective, it would be interesting to have an early November Madrid game (then the bye week), then close out the season at BOA for the 2nd game vs the falcons.  In other words, put the two division games in the 2nd half of the season Paris vs the Saints has long been rumored to be the Browns (but... never say never) We wouldn't play Munich, Melbourne, Mexico City, London, or Rio based on who those announced home teams happen to be
