Beason on WFNZ

Listening to WFNZ this afternoon over the web.

Jon Beason is on taking questions from callers.

Blew off a call about Fox, saying that he thinks Fox is a great coach but as players they play for whomever is there.

Said that he thought this week is a winnable game, but then went back into presser mode - put on your pads go out and play, blah blah blah.

More as I hear it...

Last segment with Beason:

They have a half day practice tomorrow, and a long one on Friday to make up for lost time during Thanksgiving.

Walt (caller) wished him and his mom and happy Thanksgiving, but didn't ask him anything just told him to be safe.

Talking about the Miami Heat...ummm, who cares...

Talking about Auburn not being able to play D and how Alabama's secondary is suspect.

That seems to be it. Sorry, no real meat about the Panthers in there.

I hate to play Devil's advocate but since losing Connor our run defence has been torn apart. Beason is not playing like the best linebacker on the team at the moment, which he has been since he has been here. I wouldn't be too concerned he has also been suspect in covering the TE in the passing game recently as well.

To be fair, Beason brings it every week, it must be hard to maintain a high level when the team has been so poor.

Just to clarify this guy is one of the heartbeats of the team and he should always be part of the core, however this season a lot of guys have been the difference makers for us.

Because the guy that is playing the WILL is a scrub off the street. The Panthers went from Anderson - Connor - Beason to Anderson - Beason - Scrub. Of course the run D will get worse.

Beason would probably look better w/ a fat body like Ed Johnson at DT. Beason has always made it clear how important that is for him.

Beason is 100% the heart of the defense. I remember being at the Bengals game this year and even at the end he was getting hype in the huddle trying to rev up the other guys. If everybody played with just a ounce the heart and passion he brings we wouldn't be talking about the #1 draft pick now.

dude spent all offseason trying to be prepared to play a new position, finally starts getting accustomed to it by waiting for plays to develop, and connor goes down. they send him back inside where the mentality is different and he has to make his decisions quickly again. he just needs to get back in his "rape all that moves" mindset and he'll be fine.
