Three possible scenarios and what I would do in each

OK guys here are three draft day scenarios that I've come up with and what I would do in each...

1. If Luck declares and we have #1 pick:

- Go the Stanford route, draft Luck and hire Harbaugh as head coach. This is my ideal scenario. Luck and Harbaugh obviously have a great relationship and have been succesful together if we could bring that here that would be great

2. If Luck doesn't declare and Clausen stinks it up so we have the #1 pick:

- So if this happens we will have two options I would be OK with. The first is to hire Gruden and bring in McNabb as QB and draft AJ Green. McNabb has been most succesful in a WCO like what Gruden runs and Clausen is suited for a WCO too. Green is also an elite talent and would greatly help our current recievers. The second scenario here is to hire Bill Cowher and take Cam Newton. Under this option I would try and trade down but frankly if Luck isn't there at #1 I doubt anyone will trade up with us. Newton is a freak with a ton of talent and I think Cowher would be a perfect coach for him. Newton would respect Cowher and Cowher has a history with your not so typical QB as he drafted Kordell Stewart and Ben Roethlisberger while he was in Pittsburgh.

3. Clausen plays well winning two or three of our remaining games and puts up good stats, we would probably still pick around 3-6:

- With this scenario I would bring in whichever coach we deemed could best work with Clausen to help him become a great QB and I would still draft Green just because we desperately need offense and he would help Clausen out immensely. IMO you can go OL or defense in FA, later in this draft and in future drafts. If Clausen plays well we will need to draft someone who will make sure he keeps playing well and Green can do that.

But anyways, scenario 1 seems ok to me.

We won't hire Gruden or Cowher and Cam Newton is no where near worth the 1st overall pick, so scenario 2 is out.

I would be ok with scenario 3.

Cowher isn't a fan of using high picks on QBs. He never really went after a franchise QB until they all but forced Roethlisberger upon him (lol ironic huh). If he's here (which I doubt) then he'll probably want to stick with Clausen and build up the defense, OLine, ect.

I agree, I would prefer scenarios 1 or 3 out of these choices. I don't think any of them will happen however IMO.
