Harbaugh / Luck Question #2

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

The hype of beating Pathetic Pac10 teams has blinded all of them.

as opposed to beating what at Notre Dame?

If Clausen was pro-ready and has huge potential, Luck is probowl ready. That's the difference in the two coming out of college.

As to the competition he plays, he's played some good teams, and "pathetic Pac10 competition" hasn't stopped other pac10 quarterbacks from excelling...

Your an idiot, Manning threw 28ints that year too, why dont u compare that to Jimmys ints??? You dont like that big difference do you?

Actually, you're an idiot is correct, not your an idiot.

I expect rookies to throw lots of ints. I also expect them to show some flashes of the future. While Jimmy hasn't thrown many interceptions, he hasn't done much positive either. If you want to compare the two, using a TD to INT ratio would probably be helpful. Manning was close to a 1:1 ratio. Jimmy is at a 1:5 and counting. So if Jimmy threw 20 TDs, he'd have 100 INTs.

I don't care if Jimmy throws 30 INTs, I want to see something that gives hope for the future, something to build off. Running scared and throwing it to your runningback is not something to be excited about. If Jimmy had 10 TDs and 30 INTs I'd probably be happy because at least you know he could move the team and get them into the endzone.

As it stands, our only chances of scoring are when the defense forgets to cover people or when our RBs bust off long runs.

How the fk does anybody know Luck is going to be better than Clausen?

What the fk has Luck done in the NFL?

It is all speculation.

Using this logic, there wouldn't be a need for a draft because no college player has done anything in the NFL.

Also, I'd say Clausen and Luck have done just about the same amount so far in the NFL. :ciappa:

And he's a Clausen supporter ;)

If you dont realize that Jeff Davidson is the real problem then like I said, you dont know football. And Jeff Davidson is our offensive coordinator, I know you didnt know that.

Please tell me more. Who is the head coach of this team? What stadium do the North Carolina Panthers play in? How many runs did we get last match?

Blaming Davidson is taking the easy way out. He doesn't make Jimmy miss wide open targets, he doesn't make Jimmy throw behind guys that are wide open, he doesn't make Jimmy under throw sure fire TDs by 7 yards.

BTW, Pryor sucks as well and will be a failed receiver in the NFL.

Now we're getting somewhere. I hurt your feelings but stating facts, and now we see your real intentions. You hate and are jealous of my top 10 Buckeyes, you know your statements are retarded and idiotic, you just loathe the Buckeyes.

BTW, Davidson had the same track record in Cleveland and he's proving how awful he is. There I taught you 2 things today.

Lol please tell me more. Tell me why Jimmy was so successful at ND. Tell me how many DBs he played against are currently in the NFL. Please tell me what potential he has shown you. Please tell me why we wouldn't draft Luck if we got the #1 pick.

Maybe you are just bitter because Wisconsin is going to the Rose Bowl and Ohio State will be playing in the "Who gives a f*ck bowl" against anyone but the SEC because if they do they will get blown out. I'm not really sure what your problem is, but there is one thing I am sure of, you have no clue what you are talking about.

I'm done talking to someone who has the capacity you do.

Good day.

undoubtedly davidson and fox have a huge role in clausen's stats.

his stats aren't at issue right now. his play often is. I think he has shown some flashes, but you can't really defend him as a future of the franchise right now. Possibility he could get there? Sure. Best option available now? Also agree with.

Good enough to stake your franchise on? I'm not there yet. He has several more weeks to convince me, and more importantly the team, that he's the real deal.

If he isn't the real deal, we need a QB. (and yes that was intentional)

I can assure you I am not him, and he is not me.

How many games as potential won? None. Manning went 3-13 his rookie year, according to you they should have bailed after 1 year and have drafted Daunte Culpepper the next year cuz of "potential".

Everyone said the same thing about Jimmy last year, what is your point? What is your man-crush on Luck about anyway, shouldnt that be hidden in your closet?

ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski says that Clausen might be the most ready-to-play quarterback in this year's rookie class. And it was Clausen's play in the fourth quarter that won him over.

"He wants the ball in his hands," Jaworski says. "He's LeBron James. He's Michael Jordan. With the game on the line, he wants to make the difference.

"He clearly projects to be an outstanding National Football League quarterback. And I believe he's only scratched the surface."

How many snaps had Clausen taken in the NFL before he was drafted?

People said plenty of positive things about Clausen last year , but no one talked about him the way they're talking about Luck. There was debate as to whether he was even the best QB prospect in his class. People are talking about Luck being the best QB prospect in over a decade, and no one else in this year's class is even close.

If you have even half a brain, there is no way you pass on that.

Jimmy has not thrown many interceptions because....HE REFUSES TO THROW THE fuging BALL DOWN THE FIELD.

It is easy not to have interceptions when all he does is dump a pass off to the running back....give me some more of that 4 yards per completion for 100 Alex.

    • Same. I would prefer a MNF game earlier in the season. As if more likely has some significance in case things go south this season. If we perform well enough we could even get another game forced to a Sunday night spot later in the season.
    • Wanted to jump into this thread. Although I do not post anymore I do look in as there are a few old friends around. Loved hearing some of the names you mentioned.  Another  oldie is NanceUSMC.  He is the one who got me here from the old Observer forum.  Good guy and smart football guy. I have learned a lot from a lot of good Huddlers over the years, Over time. we have sadly lost a few who left this earth too soon.  Anyone who know of someone, it would be nice to try to make a list.  One of the more recent, CosmoGirl,  was someone that kind of hit hard.  Life sucks sometimes. Some of the best times were when we had our own tailgate and could meet up in person.  I think it made us better. Several dedicated volunteers, lead by LiverMush, started setting things up in the wee hours of each gameday morning.  Don't know all those regulars but I remember JakeFlake was one.  For you newbies...each game,  a Huddler (or a group) sponsored the food for each tailgate.  Eating was free but a donation was asked for.  At the end of the year those donations were used to buy bicycles for Toys for Tots.  Over the years Huddlers bought a lot of new bikes for kids for Christmas.  (I am guessing a couple of hundred each year.)  We had a good time getting together, got to make friends in person, and then got to feel like you were doing something good. It was truly a community. I got to meet Dan Morgan at one of our tailgates...he brought pizza from his restaurant.  How many of you remember that?  Glad the restaurant did not make it....lol. Not only have people changed, and come and gone.....but the entire nature and purpose has changed. Nothing lasts forever and we move on but we still like to think about good times. Same reason we take pictures. Want to ask a question I have not seen anyone else mention......who remembers    "The Couch" ?  We have argued, laughed, lived the ups and downs of football and dealt with a little real life along the way.  A thanks to  the Mods who keep this going.  I am sure they sacrifice a lot of their time out of love for the forum and the Panthers. Take care my friends and be well.  I will close with my new favorite quote which I think is greatly needed in these difficult times.
    • My top-5 JAGS: 1. Tommy Tremble: May not ever be top-tier, but has been solid and you never doubt the effort. 2. Cade Mays: Not bad for a 6th rounder. Hated to see him go. 3. Brady Christensen: One of the most versatile backup OLs in the NFL. Hopefully we re-sign him. 4. Trevis Gipson: Quietly was really solid depth last season. Glad we brought him back. 5. Brycen Tremayne: Has been solid depth at WR, flashing at times last year.
