Charlotte Restaurants and Nightlife Questions

Hello!! Im coming down this weekend for the ACCCG (Go Hokies!). Now ive been to several Panther games but ive tailgated the day and then left. Were driving in tomorrow night and staying til sunday with a friend who lives near the airport. I just wanted to ask ya'll where some good restaurants and bars are in Charlotte .

Ive heard The Penguin is a must to go to so thats on our agenda and I saw there is a Hooters about a mile away from the stadium and Ive been to Stool Pigeons in Raleigh and loved it so we might try that too. Were gonna go to Blackfinn prior to the game saturday because there is a Hokie Alumni group that sets up there, but we wanna go to other bars as well.

What other good bars are there around BoA stadium (within walking distance) and other good restaurants just in the area of charlotte . Price, Service, Atmosphere (sports like) is what were looking for..any suggestions would be appreciated.

hooters-seriously? u can go there anywhere

blackfinn is in the epicenter so you have like 15 other bar options there. strike city usually has some good bucket specials but thats on sundays

theres all kinds of stuff around the stadium depending on which way you go

I'm in a rut and could use some different restaurant recommendations for tomorrow night. We always go to the same places. We are going to the Bobcats game tomorrow night. I want dinner before and dessert after the game. We always end up in Noda or the epicenter. I want a different place to try out for dinner and after game dessert (not Crave Dessert). Any suggestions?

Amelie(sp?) in NoDa is a jamming dessert/coffee spot.

does dinner have to be Uptown? Or just within 5 minutes?Kwan you want to spend? Hell, i dont think i know of any new places.

places... newest place ive been uptown is BLT. Lot of people gave it less than good reviews, but ive eaten there 3 times and it was good. expensive though.

ate lunch at that new Mexican place at Epi the week it opened...it was actually good. right on the corner of Trade.

Amelies is a good late night dessert place as pstall said

You should try hitting up the south side of uptown,I suggest going to pikes you can grab dinner or desserts there, its a pretty cool old school soda shop with like a homecooked southern menu. Or check out some place in the elizabeth or dilworth area they have quite a few cool spots.

As far as my hood,

PSA: Hawthornes Pizza sucks...despite th cult following.

ive only eaten there once, and its very deceiving from the outside...but Bistro La Bon is pretty good. Ate brunch there and was very pleasantly surprised. It was a buffet , so i havent ordered from the menu but i suspect its good.

LuLu is good for a couples dinner too. Its a little further down Central.

Soul Gastro Lounge(on central) has good food if you cant take the thumping club music. But it isnt too bad earlier in the evening.

Blackfinn is okay to drink, but I'm not crazy about their food. Check out Morehead St. Tavern. Not too far from the stadium.

Looks like a cool place. So everyone is telling me that this famous burger joint in charlotte is closed down and is reopening but not open yet? I will try out some of the places suggested. Thanks a lot.

How about transportation? is the CATS the best thing to use? or just grab a taxi. there is 11 of us. Were coming from around Yorkmont Shopping Center.

    • No need to explain everyone on here ‘drunk posts’ watching this team …who could blame anyone  when they were mentioned in the same breath as the Jets and Browns onward and upward as far as bryce’s little fella self, can take them
    • Sigh, we should of have kept Ashawn over this bum.
    • Well, everyone is a critic.  not much meat on the bone here in analysis but if the team needs motivation … lol   I have also heard a lot of talking head or two say that ‘Young is not in the same class as most of these teams and that in 12 of the 17 games he is the lesser QB   BR write up below  2025 record: 8-9 Last season, the Carolina Panthers made the playoffs for the first time since 2017. They won the division. Bryce Young made strides, throwing for 3,011 yards, 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions with a 63.6 percent completion rate. Wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan won the 2025 Offensive Rookie of the Year award. In free agency, the Panthers signed edge-rusher Jaelan Phillips and linebacker Devin Lloyd to bolster their middling defense. Carolina can win with complementary football if the offense continues to trend in the right direction. In 2026, Carolina will play the AFC North and NFC North on a first-place schedule, which includes matchups against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, and the Seattle Seahawks. The club will have a much tougher 17-game slate than it had last year, which may lead to regression. The Panthers aren't on the same level as the league's top teams. We'll see the gap between them and division-winning clubs from the previous season. 2026 projection: 6-11
