Trgovac, Gantt divulge a little more

Oh give me a f*cking break.

In any other business, what would it tell you if a manager has to step in and help a supervisor because of his sh*tty ass performance. Sounds to me like Fox is a loyal guy, and was wanting to help instead of just canning Trgo's sorry ass out right.

Maybe he's needy?

It's been reported that Fox stuck his hand into the defense around midseason. You can't deny the defense changed for the worse around this time.

That's not to say it couldn't have been a result of the team wearing down, but still.

wow... a guy who has leave blames the boss... didnt see that coming

give me a break.. Turd is now the voice of reason concerning Fox now?

people who agree Turdo couldnt design a blitz to get to a geriatrick QB, now think he is the voice of illumination on Fox and Panthers... LOL

get real

This article doesn't tell anything. You read into it what you want. I read into it that he was losing the confidence of the D and was taking his work home with him and neglecting his family. I also believe his decision to take a lesser position with GB was a result of confiding with his wife and the time he needs to dedicate to his family life

That would be nice, but it won't hapen. Hurney and Richardson like him too much.

My question about Fox is, how many years of underachieving does a superbowl LOSS buy you?

I really don't know what to think about Fox anymore. I don't think he will be fired but this team has alot of talent and I truely believe we should have won the superbowl this year and they blew it. What bothers me about Fox is that he doesn't ever seem to hold anyone accountable and is way to laid back to be a head coach. He seems more like a buddy to the players than anything which might work for some people but it seems like alot of our players need a fire lit under their ass and he just doesn't do that from what I can see, and it does bother me that all these people want out of a great town and a contending team when they know we should still be a true contender next year.

This.

The D was the worst toward the end of the season. Fox stepped in well before that.

FOx isn't the problem anymore than any boss is the problem when an employee is not performing. Fox only got involved when problems were revealed and he tried to help fix them. If Trgovac didn't like someone telling him what to do, going to a DL position will give him much less autonomy and voice.

I think it is the same thing that many feel people feel after several years in a high pressure job. Sometimes things get old and we all look for a new start. This is his opportunity to sit back have more time for the kids and less pressure. If Green Bay goes to a 3-4 it will be a good learning experience. Down the road he may decide to coordinate again.

You can read into whatever you want. But the bottom line is as long as the defense is good you won't see Fox on your case. If you don't do the job, he will be there front and center. It is his team and his job to see that things go well.

Exactly. People are throwing blame around a lot. How they expect Fox not to get involved when the defense isn't playing well, is beyond me.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
