I'll start with my stupid ass teenage neice. She has missed 15 days of school so far and can only miss 8 for the year she said. She's pissed because the school only allows for a few makeup days, so she has already failed. She said this morning she was quitting HS and going to get her GED. She doesn't have a job, so I asked how the hell she planned to pay for it and her response was to ask my father. WTF!!!! If my kid turns out even close to how my niece is, I'm going to strangle her.

Edit: Forgot to mention she is a senior and would have had 5 months to go.

Well her biological father is trash. Her mom remarried when she was like 4or 5 I think and her stepfather is a punk ass bitch, pretty much talked poo to her all the time. She lives with my father at the moment. What she does though is after everyone goes to work is just go back to bed and say fug it. She's a little poo head honestly. I think I'm going to go by their today and put my foot in her ass.

well lots of people overcome adversity when their parents arent really good parents. But when u grow up in a pooty household where nobody gives a *** about u do u expect her to give a *** about life? She needs a role model and not someone to put their foot in her ass. That will just make it worse.

This sounds just like my baby brother. He did the same thing, grew up in the same poo. I did too, but I didn't do the same crap he did and still does.

My bro just turned 22 in Oct. Still lives at home with our parents, no job, never really has had a real job. He doesn't do anything to help around the house. The only thing my parents do is yell at him for being lazy. They won't kick him out, they say things are different now than they were when I was coming up. Things are harder, they don't want him to freeze or to suffer.

I've tried to do everything from putting a foot in his ass to having a sit down to begging and nothing works to get through to him. So now I've stopped doing anything for him. I quit enabling, I don't even give him good gifts for his birthday & Christmas anymore & I'm thinking about not giving him anything at all this year.

I've told him when he wants real help to let me know. But he's unwilling to help himself & I refuse to waste my time on someone like that even if he is my brother. I think the best thing for him would be for them to kick him out on his ass. So maybe he would have to learn to work in order to survive.

almost the same situation with my bro cept he's 28 and doesn't live at home. however, he lives in a condo my parents own and they hook him up on the rent (unfair).

all of his bills are in my parent's names since they own the place so he pays them for the bills and fugs my parents credit up on poo they help him buy and he doesn't pay on time.

my dad gave him a job with clear channel back when I was a senior in college (sooo, sometime in 2008). He was doing sales for a radio station here in Charlotte. Was doing really well, dressing nice, actually showering, going out and having friends. Then he decides he doesn't want to do that anymore becasue "I can't do it and I hate doing the same thing every day"

So, I said, hey guess what chief? Thats a job! You have to start somewhere. Now its to a point where he is working in the same restaurant as he has been for a million gagillion years, making barely enough money to cover rent (which he is still hooked up on) and all he does is sit at his house b/c he has no money to go out. He never takes care of himself, doesn't wash his clothes, and has no insurance so he hasnt been to the doctor/dentist in God knows how long.

Its very frustrating and my sister constantly gives him sympathy and it really pisses me off. I am to a point where I have no sympathy for him. He was given the same opportunities my sister and I were given and did nothing with them (dropped out of college when he was a sophomore). She "feels bad" for him and always tries to give him sympathy and do stuff for him.
