Ron Meeks Is New D-Coordinator

It's not like we want endless blitzes or think the success of any defensive schemes rely solely on the amount of blitzes. Just anything that gets the job done.

LOL...from most of the comments I've seen about Trgo on this board, endless blitzes and constant bump and run coverage, is exactly what most people want.

Whatever though, Meeks is a Panther now, which means I'm a Meeks fan. It will be interesting to see how much free reign Fox allows him to have though.

Colts fans are wishing us luck because appearently Meeks runs a "bend it but don't break it" defense... Basically saying that we should be prepared to have one of the worst run defenses...

I'm hoping for changes, but they are right. The colts run D was piss poor this season and our D roster isn't light years better than theirs by any stretch.

fox is gone after this year.

Could be.

But we did go 12-4, and if we improve on defense with Meeks (what if Edwards is our DB coach?), and now Jake has someone to help in every aspect of the QB game... We could be much better than this year.

We can either tank, as expected since we just had a winning season.

Or we can excel again, and have less holes in the coaching staff to help our players excel as well. If so, I see Fox staying.

Looking at their depth chart they must have had the smallest D-line in the NFL. Not one starter over 280, including the DTs. Peppers and Brayton are bigger than both their DTs (and Charles Johnson is just as big as their biggest DT).

I'm happy with this pickup. His secondaries have been very good. Heck in 2007 they got rid of their two SB winning CBs and ended up with the number 2 passing D with Marlin Jackson and Kelvin Hayden. Let us hope he can do the same thing with Gamble and whoever is on the other side(depending on what they do with Lucas).

btw guys meeks was just a guy that ran dungy's scheme.

he's just a puppet.

nothing will change.

7-9

Have you ever had a positive thought in your entire life?

You were also the guy on here saying we would be 7-9 this past season....hit that one on the head, didn't you?

Go be a Detroit Lions fan....your attitude fits their fanbase perfectly.
