I made them today. They almost didn't make it to their destination.

Crack Babies

2 lbs bacon

1 lb little Smokey sausages (reserve juice in package)

1-2 cups brown sugar, or to taste

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Cut bacon into thirds and wrap each strip around a little sausage. Place the wrapped sausages on wooden skewers, several to a skewer. Arrange the skewers on a raised rack on baking sheet and sprinkle them liberally with brown sugar.
  3. Mix 1 cup of the brown sugar with the reserved sausage juice, heat it in the microwave if needed to get it to melt.
  4. Baste the skewers every 5 minutes or so and bake until bacon is crisp, the brown sugar is caramelized and sausage is heated thoroughly.

Cook time approximately 20-25 minutes.
