The Next Head Coach

Mr. Scot

I think it'll be McDermott, though Mularkey is a possibility.

(would rather have Rivera than either of those, honestly)

highly doubt it'd be Mularkey. McDermott would make sense and has the best link to available offensive coaching.

Not sure I like the offensive choices though, not if it includes Childress and Mornhinweg (neither looked worth much away from Andy Reid). WCO could fit Clausen better though. Wouldn't mind Jauron as DC if he could snag him.

Childress would be the OC choice I would expect. I just wouldn't like it.

Maybe he could actually accomplish something just as a OC.

I mean, the guy did have a very nice run game, along with a 30+ TD QB last year.

what's better that's available?

I mean I'm not the guy's champion, but expecting that teams will give an assistant an interview that they wouldn't give another team is unrealistic.

I mean, we could go hire Mike McCoy if you want.

If McDermott is the HC hire, not much.

I'm not that big on the idea of McDermott as HC though, and I think some of the other candidates could get better options.

    • I watched him on many occasion....hes more of a Berlin, Brad Johnson thang.  Not gonna kill you but smart with throws... thats why I said 5 yrs max. Better than anything we have now by a wide margin  and better than anything in the next draft. We would kill anything good he had.
    • My dream trade for a "vet" would be Joe Milton.
    • It's a shot in the dark like it is with most QBs.  I just know he has played in the NFL for what 4 years now?  Learned under Shanahan, McCarthy, and now Harbaugh.  He has has 143 attempted passes and 65 carries in this league during the regular season.  He checks everything you want physically.  It could be a fun option to watch while we keep building this roster and look at drafting a future QB.  I still wouldn't hold my breath on it but it's interesting and a cheap option.
