My Tweet to Jimmy Clausen sums up the rest of the season..

Awesomeness!!

Recommended Posts

You should go tell him that on his twitter page. Because the true sign that you have a really solid basis in reality is chasing down an athlete that you hate online and leaving him bitter messages implying that you want somebody to take his job. Real top shelf kind of social skills on exhibition there.

I couldn't give two licks about what people say here, because it's just here and it stays here. But when you chase down a professional athlete that wants to share his experience and thank the fans for support and trash him, that is just poor form to me.

There is just so much hate in the world. So many haters.

What do you expect from someone who refers to himself as "Awesomeness?"

Yes....because I care about your opinion.

God you people get annoying. If he sucks, he sucks. Its not my fault. If he didn't suck, I would give him the praise he deserved. But I guess anyone that utters a bad word about a below average QB is a "hater" nowadays...oh well..

No. You don't have to lump praise on him for any reason at all. There is a difference between being aware of the faults of a player and chasing him down on Twitter and hating on him. His personal page on the web that he is gracious enough to share with the fans, and you use it to talk shat about him for no other reason than he's not Andrew Luck or he doesn't throw a football as well as you would like.

You may think these athletes aren't people, but they are people. My folks raised me better than to pull off some garbage like you did and be proud of it.

Dude, I've tweeted Jimmy Clausen twice. Once wishing him good luck like 8 weeks ago, and again 2 hours ago. I follow the guy, thats hardly chasing him down. Anytime I talk to anyone on twitter, its wishing them luck (no pun intended) and telling them I need X amount of points for my fantasy team. Get off of your high horse. I just thought it was funny, and I'm sure he laughed about it as well, if he even read it. Maybe it gives him fuel to succeed, who knows.

I am not on a high horse, I am just trying to get you to see that going on a personal twitter page with the sole purpose of trashing somebody you don't know and wears our colors is more like something you should be ashamed of as opposed to something you should come on here and brag about.

There is no need to be a hater. You should put that energy toward something more productive or positive. I know in this loser internet culture that the more vicious and insensitive you are to others the cooler you are, but the inverse is true for those of us that live in reality.

I am not a Clausen fan at all. I don't think Carolian fans should tell him to fail. Kid seems to work and try hard.....and seems to be handling a tough situation pretty dang well. He could end up being a great backup for us. He could (even though I highly doubt it) a decent game manager in the right offense (clearly a heavy playaction offense ain't it).

I hope we get the first pick. If Clausen went out and beat Pitt and Atlanta and made some throws he hasn't yet. That wouldn't be that bad of a thing. Could still likely make a move for Cam.

I trashed him?

NO! Please don't 'finish up strong' and blow Andrew Luck for us.

Hardly "trashing" him. I could have told him that he sucks sweaty balls. Then you would have a valid argument here. But you're just kind of whining now...probably because you haven't figured out how to use teh twitter yet....

    • I think you have to factor in that we're still not an attractive proposition for Head Coaches. You're not getting the cream of the crop if you fire Canales a year after winning the NFC South, especially considering the situation he walked into.
    • Yeah, I was about to say I hope he's doing okay health-wise because he's not looking good in that pic.
    • Honestly, I dont  think he should be on the hot seat yet. A bad start to next year, then yes. Despite our mistakes on play calling this past season, we played better than anticipated overall. Bryce showed improvement and maturity (although still not nowhere close to our expectations). Better record and 2-15 to 5-12 to 8-9. Despite what we feel the stats dont lie we are improving by 3 wins a year. Could 11-6 be our expectation. That's a high bar but at the rate we are going, thats what its looking like. We all want to see a 5-12 to a 13-4 record but we are methodically moving up. Success doesnt happen overnight (well in most cases).  IMO we are struggling mostly on the defensive end. LB and edge are our biggest weakness. I see Bryce making improvements (even though I was a Bryce hater) next year. Biggest concern is LT on offense. How to fix this? We need a big name edge or to trade up and get a big name edge or LB and pick up one in FA and draft one. Also if in the 3rd we can pick up a TE. Dont know if Sanders is the answer or Tremble (even though I love Trembles blocking and power after the catch). If these two can get their footwork together they would be great. Maybe all they need is a better TE coach. And if Brooks can stay healthy and be the back we thought he could be, man that would be great
