Michael Jordan's high school all-star game is coming to Charlotte.

The 10th Jordan Brand Classic, one of the top high school showcases in the country, is moving from New York's Madison Square Garden to Charlotte's Time Warner Cable Arena, where Jordan's Charlotte Bobcats play.

The game is scheduled for April 16, 2011. In addition to a game featuring the country's top seniors, there will be an international game featuring top under-17 players from around the world and a North Carolina all-star game.

The Jordan Classic - eclipsed in national significance only by the McDonald's All-Star Game - was first played in 2002 in Washington. After two years it moved to Landover., Md., before heading to New York from 2005 through 2010.

The game's top players have played in the Jordan Classic, including LeBron James, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, Kevin Durant and Amare Stoudemire.

Last year's game featured MVPs Kyrie Irving (who went to Duke) and Harrison Barnes (North Carolina). Kendall Marshall and Reggie Bullock, both at North Carolina this season, and N.C. State's C.J. Leslie also played.

Durant, who was an MVP in 2006, attended Tuesday's news conference at Time Warner Cable Arena and officially "broke" the news of the game's move to Charlotte on his Twitter account.

He said meeting Jordan and playing with and against the top high school players in the country was an experience he'll never forget.

"It made us feel important," said Durant, whose Oklahoma City Thunder played the Bobcats on Tuesday night. "It got us ready for the big leagues."

Tickets, which start at $10, are available at TicketMaster and the Time Warner Cable Arena box office.

    • I'd rather not have Burns and draft good edge rushers. He wasn't worth the contract he got for a dude that could only rush the passer and frankly did a terrible job of it for us because whenever he did beat his blocker, he would whiff on the QB. Congrats to him for actually being able to wrap up the QB this year - it's the first time he has consistently been able to do it. The amount of teams that ran right at him while he was with us shows that teams realized he was an undersized edge and could get pushed backwards several yards on run plays. Having Dexter Lawrence next to you helps mask that problem
    • I mean, some of y'all keep on saying that, but the fact is is that he is the only Giant feasting. Burns is just better than many of us thought, myself included. Sometimes it just takes guys time to get to the top of their game, that's why I'm going to give our rookies a lot of grace. It might be a couple of years before they hit their stride (though it didn't take Burns that long). But I have been disappointed. Moreover, I suspect that they all might benefit by migrating to  a 4-3 base.  But Burns is what he is. It was ultimately bad timing IMO. After Scott Fitterer failed to take the two firsts, things were destined to go downhill. I think we should've kept Clowney for another year or so more than Burns, but it's all been fûcked up anyway, so nobody was probably going to make that much of a difference.
