this guy is DONE. not showing up for practice, then gets benched, then misses games because of a hamstring injury, then all of a sudden misses more games due to an ankle injury. he is done here, and so is richard marshall. marshall has been all about the money since he arrived here. look for the panthers to trade down from the first pick, take patrick patterson in the 1st and with the 2nd we get for trading down take a defensive tackle probably marvin austin from north carolina.martey hurney is not giving up on clausen this quick. remember the huge boner hurney had while talking about clausen after the draft?

I think all teams talk big about their draft picks after they draft them.... I don't think you can find a video of any gm doing anything differently. The good GM's are the one's who quickly realizes a bad pick.

Also if you think we would go defense 1 & 2 while having the worst offense in the leagues, and one that is competing for records that only a select few offenses have pulled of in the past 35 years....I don't know what to say.

If that fruitcake Hurney allows Clausen to start one game next year I will go back to rooting for the Redskins. No way Hurney is that stupid. Or is it?

yes he is that stupid, but he is not stupid enough to give chris gamble over 9 million bext season either.both gamble and marshall will be gone who does that leave as our starters at corner? captain and cj wilson? jordan pugh?

Kind of silly speculating on who is staying and who is going, until you know who the new Coach and staff will be. And even then you still won't know what they are thinking about the players on the team and visa versa.

chris gamble is scheduled to make 9.5 million next season. DO YOU REALLY THINK HE WILL BE A PANTHER NEXT YEAR? really? really? really? YOU DONT KNOW HOW THE NFL WORKS

The Problem is between John Fox and Chris Gamble, fortunatley John Fox is already on his way out so I wouldn't say anyone is gone until the new coach says they are gone. The new coach will have to build relationships with each player and those he does not build relationships with will not be with the Carolina Panthers. Every thing that a Panther player has done this year whether good or bad does not matter because in all likely hood only one to three guys on the coaching staff may be returning next year.

Now as far as Gamble's play goes, yes he has been underachieving this year but so has every other single player on the Panthers roster. Only a few players have played and played well in every single game this year. Players like Jonathan Stewart (when he is in there), Mike Goodson, David Gettis, Charles Johnson, James Anderson, Jon Beason, Captain Munnerly, Charles Godfrey, Richard Marshall, Jason Baker, and John Kasay are the only one's noted for stats and yet Marshall and Godfrey were still playing below their capability this season.

There is no need to point fingers at anyone or say that anyone is gone when the team is 2-13 because with this record no ones job should be safe.

    • I like what Freeling brings to the table all around. If he is willing to put in the work he has an opportunity to be one of the better Tackles in the league down the line. Hunter Brazzell and Hecht are all premium additions but development from our staff are the key to unlocking them. Hopefully Lee and Wheatley will provide much needed additional depth to our secondary. Beyond that it's important not to get too caught up in draft grades. Many drafts over the years that turned out to be really good were not fawned over with praise. While some that were ended up being historical duds. Panthers fans ought to know this as well as anyone. In conclusion...
    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
