What would Luck's jersey number be?

unless his stock rises alot soon, Newton isn't a top 10 pick much less #1 pick. Going by the mocks that are out there.

Newton will go within the top 5 picks and will be the best QB out of this draft much like he's been the best QB in college football. The scouts, mocks, and blind hype wont be able to save these guys once they hit the football field, ask Jimmy Clausen. Then it will come down to who delivers and who doesnt, who handles adversity, and who runs from it. So far, Newton has delivered better than any QB in the nation.

If Newton got a #, it should be #1 because if he came here, he'd be the #1 draw to our football team.

at the moment, Newton is a late first round prospect

Mocks have top 10 looking like:

Luck

Bowers/Fairley/Peterson/Quinn/AJ Green

then maybe Locker in later half top 10.

Scouts currently have Newton graded as a late first rounder, yeah some team like the Raiders may reach on the potential aspect, but on paper he's not top 15 NFL prospect.

    • One of the Carolina Panthers' newest defenders thinks their pass rush can go from worst to first. ESPN's David Newton recently chatted with outside linebacker Pat Jones II, who signed with the Panthers as a free agent earlier this offseason. Jones comes over from an awfully impressive Minnesota Vikings defense—one that ranked first in takeaways (33), fourth in sacks (49) and second in QB pressure rate (44.4 percent) this past season. And despite a historically-bad campaign by Carolina's defense in 2024, the 26-year-old seems to believe his new unit can be similar—or even better—than his last. "I definitely think we could do something similar, if not better," Jones said, via Newton. "I've seen it before, so I know what it looks like. I look around the building and see we have exactly what it takes to do that." https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/24/panthers-pat-jones-vikings-espn/83840667007/?taid=683219b347846900018fa10a&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter     It's the offseason.  Let hope spring eternal. (actually, I think we are much closer than this board thinks)
    • 5 total TDs against the Falcons was pretty good efficiency and he showed that ability to go off scripts and get 2 of those TDs rushing.  How many times did he deliver big time throws against pressure.  I agree we need to see this offense operate at high efficiency which starts with Bryce. When he does I hope the goals posts won’t shift to some other stat like QB sneaks lol
