point is what luck is heading for with us is no name WRs with a good d...yeah he'll put up stats and we'll cheer but in the long run....dam marino...and i not saying luck is no good...i want luck...but being sensible for long term thats not who we should get...we dont have what he will need...we're gonna david carr the poor boy...i dont want that

I think we have some serious horses in the backfield, an otherwise good offensive line that had a down year due to injuries and a rotating door at QB, and promising wide receivers. Having Davidson out of the picture will make a world of difference and I'm confident Luck would be a good day one starter here if we chose to go that route. I could live with a mediocre year where some scrub gets the majority of the starts while Luck sits as well-in fact I think I would prefer it.

True I remember when the Pats were up & down & then their starting DT got hurt & the back up DT came in & they won the Super.... Wait a tick...

yeah that year they fired their coach and and some no name guy came in and took the DT and said were gonna win this

  • tom brady type QBs are easy to find in the 6th round every year.
  • drew brees type QBs hit the market every year.
  • franchise QBs aren't really needed in the new NFL to be dominant
  • good QBs can be found anywhere, even on our own team right now
  • the stock market hits 15k points every year after new years day
  • bigfoot exists in my backyard
  • john fox will be the panthers head coach next season.

all of these things are equally true.

not drafted in first 3 rounds

journey men till he met up with payton

rapist

1. Brees played for 2 teams, how does that make him a journeyman?

2. What does "rapist" have to do with football?

True on Brady, but we don't have a Belechek on the sideline. Only one team has that.

You mean our defense that was ranked 8th and wasn't even the best one in the division?? I am sure it had nothing to do with all Delhomme's 4th quarter comebacks. They just gave us the Cardiac kids nickname for the defense right??

to be honest jake used to just chuck it up and SS and moose went and got it...they got old and that didnt work anymore and everybody acted surpised...kinda how eveybody's so surprised bret farve sucks now

Given we don't know the coach, the scheme of the offense or defense and the draft is 4 months away, to say you know what Luck would or won't have is extremely premature. We don't even know who will be resigned or let go at this point.

As for thinking a defender is more valuable than a franchise quarterback for the long term, you seem way out in left field.

Franchise QBs and good QBs are two different things

Another thing about Brady is that the system he's in fits his skill set like a glove. It would be beyond moronic to opine that he's a "system QB", but one thing that's been on my wish list is to see how he would fare in a system with lots of play action-based deep downfield passing and hanging around in the pocket instead of the West Coast-y intermediate/short passing system with lots of 3 step drops NE runs. That would be f**king fascinating I think.

We all know that Smith made Jake. Just like he made Clausen this year.....

Oh wait, that's right he is old now even though more than 1 guy this year said Smith hadn't lost a step at all and if he went to a team with a real quarterback would suddenly be a pro-bowler again.
