I respect Ron Jawarski's opinion.

MIAMI – Ron Jaworski walked into Stanford’s practice with high expectations for what he’d see out of quarterback Andrew Luck. Two hours later, Jaworski was left shaking his head.

“I’ve seen some of his games on TV and was very impressed, and I’ve looked at the (game tape) and been very impressed,” said Jaworski, the Monday Night Football analyst and former NFL quarterback.

“But seeing him live, I’m blown away.”

Known for his knowledge of the position and intense film study, Jaworski was as impressed with Luck’s presence as his arm or accuracy.

“He looks, acts and carries himself like an NFL quarterback,’’ Jaworski said Wednesday. “He exudes leadership.

“He’s NFL-ready, as sound a quarterback as anyone I’ve seen. He throws a tight spiral, has flawless mechanics and an array of throws.

“I have no doubt he’ll be a successful pro.”

Luck has two weeks to decide if he will enter the draft — he’s projected to be the No. 1 pick — or return for his junior season. The Carolina Panthers (2-13) own the first selection.

Does anyone know what Jaws said about Clausen?

"Yeah, there’s very little not to like about Jimmy Clausen,'' said Jaworski. "When you watch him play, he wants the ball in his hands. He’s LeBron James. He's Michael Jordan. With a game on the line, he wants to make the difference in the football game. So he clearly projects to me to be an outstanding National Football League quarterback, and I believe he’s only scratched the surface.''

I've reached an unbiased decision on what I think Luck should do.

If he loves football, and this is what he wants to do in life, I think he should come out.

I understand the college life is nice, and he would be doing away with a year of that, but if the NFL truly is his passion, then I personally feel it would be in his best interest to come out.

The money he'll receive will keep him financially secure forever (he seems like a smart kid, so I'm thinking he'd be wise with the money he received, unlike the Walrus out of LSU a few years back) he'd be stepping into a great situation on a young, talented team in a stable organization with a dedicated ownership (no matter what bogus rumors have been flying).

He can always finish his degree another time. He would truly be all set to be a great QB from day 1 here.

With that said, if he wants to stay, then none of that matters.

It's his life, and his decision to make, and I, as a fan of the game will support it either way.

You couldn't fault the guy for going back to school.

Could we really use him? Definitely.

Does our entire future hinge on him? Nope. (At least I certainly hope not)

I pretty much agree with mos ot what he said.... Jimmy want's the ball in his hands. I believe that Jimmy wants to be great.... But wanting to be great, and actually being able to be great in the NFL are two different things. I'm sure the rookies who get cut during the pre-season have all the drive and determination to make it.... but just not enough skills. Jimmy is not yet showing he has the skills to be great in the NFL.

As terrible as Clausen has been, a rookie could not have entered a worse situation. Give him a little time and he could become decent. He will need to be coached up. He will need a line, better WRs, and an Offensive Coordinator who knows his own personnel. We really don't know what we have because the coaching staff is a bit indifferent, knowing they were leaving, so why develop Clausen for the future. Almost anyone would fail in this situation. I am not saying he is going to be great, I am saying way too early to dump him into the heap.

He has the temperment to be a solid #2 QB in the NFL, maybe a game manager type in a few years.

Holy hell. For once, I am in complete 100% agreement with KT.

Jaws is an idiot. Gruden's punked him so many times on MNF for saying stupid poo, his credibility is garbage imho.

This is a hallmark day.

I'm starting to like Cam more and more.

You are possibly right, but I have to think the expectations here for a second round, rookie QB in this "no win" situation have tainted his image. Maybe you are absolutely right, but if that is true, then we have bigger problems. He is our starting QB and has not been cut by the people who know football. If he is cut, he would be picked up in minutes. If the professionals think something is possibly worth salvaging, how can you be so sure there isn't?

      I'll be honest.  I'm not sure I want to see any those guys returning right now given what others are presently doing.... minus Coker.  Hubbard returning likely messes the run game up (I mean, it's going to come down regardless but he still), Tremble and Evans actually are doing well, Corbett seems to make us worse up front, and the D has made some strides.  I'd like to just keep that whole lot on the shelf this week.

      I don't think people know that Icky is still only 25 years old. Panthers signed UDFAs older this year and drafted DJ Johnson. Heres a fact, a deep fact.... Its easier(much) to find a good-great QB than good-great LT. Another fact there's only 12-15 true LTs and the others are larping as LT.  SO....(I'm not a fan btw)......you nearly must resign him at all cost even with him being around the 12th best at times. Its the hardest spot to fill and he's still awful young with 4 years as a pro. Carolina already got 4 years of "cheap" service as well, that's invested time and effort.  The fan-side of me hopes he signs some top 5 at best top 3 big money deal. Just the cap keeps growing and LTs, young LT with experience are rrrrrrare and unique. Tag him if needed and tag him again, then trade him. I think he enjoys being/living in NC.  I hope he's stays on a team friendly deal, but those are soooo rare these days.  Only two options- pay him whatever, even if it's top $$$$$(uggggghhhh..) or tag him for 2027 and keep trying to pay. Worst outcome is trading him for couple 1s, 3s, and 5th maybe a player too.

      I always loved DJ Moore.  I don't see him wanting to comeback here.  He seems to be tired of inconsistent QB play and you finally see that bubbling over in Chicago.  or maybe he just doesn't like the people.  He actually seemed fine with Fields.....and lobbied for them not to draft Caleb.  So maybe it's just a Caleb issue (and I think Caleb might have tons of baggage/issues that rub folks wrong)
