Drafting 3 1/2 QBs in 2 years.

I give the receivers a pass - they're rookies and they're only going to get better. The O-line is terrible though.

The kid has had no help yet he's taking all the blame. It's ridiculous.

I don't give Clausen all the blame, the offense as a whole is horrible. But twice today I saw Clausen miss an out route. Any starting QB should be able to throw that.

Also, after about 10-12 weeks into the season I personally stop giving rookies an excuse. I feel they have had enough time to stop making the same mistakes. That is just me tho.

The Oline has also been hurt by injuries. With the players that will come back next year and adding depht in FA and later in the draft. We should be good again on the Line. But Jimmy might not get any better.

You give me a crappy QB and a Great OL. I'll beat your crappy OL and Great QB 9 times out of 10.

See Mark Rypien.

I disagree. The crappy QB will miss wide open receivers when the line gives him time. The great QB will know he only has 2 seconds to get rid of the ball and throw it quick.

I just dont see how you can judge a qb off of one year with a bad group of receivers and a bad o-line...he made some nice throws and some bad ones, just like a rookie normally does

He constantly misses an out route. That isn't a rookie mistake.

Yep

When Clausen has time and an open WR he is iffy at best. He makes really bad throws that should be easy.

Amazing that he still gets the rookie pass for such terrible play

I was trying to think of an example of this going on in the league right now. The Bears have a crap O-line, but Cutler has been playing really well. The Bucs O-line is shaky at times, but Freeman has been really good. The Eagles O-line is going to get Vick killed, but he's in the MVP talk. The only really great O-line that comes to mind is NE, and well..they have a HOF QB too.

But I would love to see the Panthers use this thinking and take an O-lineman at #1 instead of Andrew Luck...yeah that would really cool.

Top priority: QB

2nd: DE, OT

3rd: DT, LBer, OG, C

Once you have that strong core established then you start adding in the skill positions and playmakers.

Let your franchise QB make your WRs look better than they are.

Let your dominating OLine make your RBs look better than they are.

Let your elite DLine make your secondary look better than it is.

How to build a championship team according to me at least.

We could use some DE depth maybe, but Johnson and Hardy are fine.

DT is a bigger need than DE, and LB isn't much of a need at all.

    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
    • Didn’t get around to watching this one but looks like Pistons played their starters and actually tried…? Unlucky that they sit vs Magic, etc and try vs us. Hopefully we can beat the Heat and then Magic or 6ers with no Embiid. BUT if not, the NBA really should give us the lottery win this year like they did Mavs last year. Another high pick could be our final missing piece and have us as legit top contenders next year and going forward if we’re healthy. Or trade it for a Giannis type
